I remember listening to this song a little more than 2 years ago EVERY MORNING faithfully. Yes, this is how much I don’t want to go to work for. While it is untrue with the smoking part, but the not working part certainly hit home!
Remembering not being able to understand French then I had to solely rely on a dear friend whom stayed in Paris for a year to painfully explain what the song meant. I remember singing with him in the mornings at work; it was certainly very liberating. How ironic isn’t it?
Lately, because of Edith Piaf, I have been revisiting my old and dusted music folder for some good old lax songs. Je ne veux pas travailler certainly reminded me to live my life a little for my own good’s sake.
Some other personally picked awesome Pink Martini songs are Tea for Two, Hang on Little Tomato, Never on Sunday, Brazil & Donde Estas, Yolanda.
Do check out the group. I just wish they do more French songs.
