Watching, watching, watched

Shutter (2008)

My all time favorite horror movie is Shutter (Thai, 2004) and I was stoked when they released the Hollywood version not too long ago. As always, the original was way better, nevertheless the Hollywood version was just as good.

This version’s setting was a little different, more scenic scenes, better cinematography and yet something about the movie seem a little too dramatic for effect, a little fake.

Casts were all very pretty and handsome. Everyone seemed genuine. My surprise was to see “Ando” from Heroes in it.

After reading the bestseller, I was actually not surprise to see it coming to the big screen. While the book was rather lengthy, boring at times and occasionally unnecessary; the movie was totally different. A very meaningful, touching and moving movie. Very unreal too, how a small little mistake could ended up in such a tragic story.

People kept telling me that do not fall for this but I just could not help myself. It was utterly boring, they changed the female protagonist!! and it was such a childish movie. What a waste of time.

I watched this many moons ago and I am surprise to find it just as disgusting as I first watched it. This one is a classic though, many gore movie was based on this ever since.

Surprisingly, this is an adult movie. Leaning towards the dark side and has a constant action pace. Great for time waster movie. Not bad enough to ignore and not good enough to go all crazy over.

6/10

Boring, boring, boring movie. At first, I was expecting it to be a bomb but it turns out to be a flob. Great actors selection but shitty movie/concept. Heaps of flaw in this movie that could be easily detected.

2/10

What a weird movie! I couldn’t quite put a word onto it. A strong love themed film with plenty of dysfunctional relationship on display. It was sickening and sweet at the same time.
