- Wand application which is a step up from this.
- Slightly above average range of colour option.
- Good if you are not expecting any colour on your lips.
- Lasted a fair bit. Around 4-5 hours of wear per application.
- More suitable for a top gloss over your favorite lipstick.
- Fragrance was pleasantly tolerable.
The Bad Bits:
- It’s got SPF but not high enough. Hence a layer of sunscreen is require prior to application.
- Very sheer colour not buildable.
- $35 for its 6ml size is pretty hefty especially there’s nothing to shout about.
- The sliver cap packaging looks a little tacky for my liking.
Shades that I heart:
#Gold Spun (neutral shimmery nude shade)
#Cabana Crush (mashmallowy girly pink shade)
Overall, I don’t recommend this range. It is a little far too sheer to my liking. I love colours on my lips. Its a no brainer why this range hasn’t gotten on Clinique’s best-seller list. If you want moisturize on your lips stick with their Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss.
There’s something about it that makes me what to buy what’s recommended for me. Vulnerable customer much?
This week I found two really useful ones.
1) Kat from Beauty Editor summed up a list of Winter 09 hot makeup looks complete with products recommendation that won’t break your bank.
Why is it good: It is pretty handy since all the makeup looks are straight off the runway. Hot!! Great for inspiration and for getting out of your makeup rut.
2) Spoiled pretty covered the makeup used in Gossip Girl. Source straight from the set makeup artist. A must for all GG fan!!
Why is it good: Complete with working links and skincare too!
Enjoy! I will definitely post more links when I find more news worth sharing! In the mean time, go break your card and shop away!

Initially, I was very excited with this book because Rae Morris is sort of like the top makeup artist in the Australia industry. I watch her makeup how-to videos at Primped and have heard many good things about here. Having worked in international and local scenes I was expecting fantastic or secret tips for makeup but alas, I was hugely disappointed with this book and here’s why:
- Sad to say her book is more for ‘white’ features. Ethnicity groups play a very small and almost missable section in this.
- Makeup how-tos are mainly too advance/too done up for everyday wear. Definitely for pros. Translation = not suitable for the other 90% of us who don’t wear 10 colours + shimmers on our lids on a daily basis.
- Lack of product recommendation. (I am a sucker for this!)
- The tips that she provided in her book were all very text book stuff. Meaning all beauty conscious people would have already known such. (Eg: Cetaphil + Bicarb as scrub!)
- Overall, I find this book rather vague even with the step by step pictures provided.
One thing though, she managed to put Miranda Kerr‘s ugly picture (pre-makeup of course!) on the book and here I was thinking that woman never takes a bad shot.
This book is definitely for makeup artists who does makeup shows as a living. Not recommended is you are getting this book for general makeup advices/tips.

I just wanted to say that Revitanail (Winter 09 Collection) gave me such a pleasent surprise. It is no doubt by far the glossiest nail polish I have tried. OPI is good and all but it doesn’t come with a glossy finish unless you top it up with a glossy top coat. This one is shiny+ glossy on its own.
Resistance wise is pretty much on par with OPI. If you use two coats + top coat this will probably last you a good full week. Its chip free as it advertises as well. (Love it!)
Star ingredient: Silica which is a Chinese medicine used to strengthen nails/hair.
Comes in 12 shades. Probably a little darker than I would usually like but hell it’s afterall a winter collection and they all look pretty wearable.
I am liking the idea of shiny nails instead of matte nails. Also, I love how it has treatment in it as nail polishes doesn’t usually comes with that.
I am currently loving #Perfect Pink. Its the perfect shade of hot pink!
- Economical. $9.99 I think.
- Perfect size for a hand cream to be.
- Good for other dry bits around the body too. Eg: foot, elbows, knees, etc.
- Star ingredient: natural colloidal oatmeal. (Good stuff, go look it up!)
- Non greasy, tick. Melts onto skin quickly, tick. Moisturising, tick. Soothing, tick.
- Contains rich emollients to moisturise skin and protect/prevent it from drying.
- Last through hand washing. Amazing, no?
- Almost scentless except for a tiny wee bit of oatmeal smell.
The Bad Bits:
- No SPF but that doesn’t really bothers me.
I am surprised with the result of this intense relief hand cream. It is even better than a lot of other overpriced hand creams that I have tried.
It is even lighter in texture with the Neutrogena one yet you can feel how soft and tender the hand feels after one application with this. And yes, it did last through hand washing provided I did not scrub my hands rigorously.
- My skin probably felt a little smoother as you’d feel when you put on a mask regardless.
- Good stable packaging, convenient and easy to use.
- Fairly easy to wash off. From a scale of 1-10 I’ll say it’s around 5.
- No peeling involved.
The Bad:
- Overpriced for its size. Recently the price went from AUD$88 to AUD$90 for such a tiny 50ml bottle. (from Mecca)
- Smell a little funny like papaya but not quite papaya.
- Didn’t see any result whatsoever.
I really wanted to say I am head over heels for this product but the truth is I don’t. In fact, I am a mega disappointed with this mask.
As you should know I am a huge mask fan and I know my masks. I am also a huge Ren Skincare fan and after reading so many raving reviews about this product I was expecting miracle to happen from this little bottle.
I have been using this for close to 2 months now and I have been putting off doing a review for it because I did not see any dramatic difference to my skin and in all honesty I didn’t see a difference AT ALL !! I waiting for my skin to act up and tried it on; no results. I even tried it on le garçon and the result was utterly disappointing.
For the first time ever, I don’t know what to say? I love Ren Skincare but maybe not the glycolatic skin renewal peel mask. Its not working for me.
