On Brighter Asian Skin by Biotherm

According to Joanne Lo (Biotherm energy team skincare expert):

Asian Skin Type

Once a week treat your skin to a whitening ritual by first cleansing then applying the White
D-Tox clear white mask. Leave it on for 10 minutes and this will help lift off surface dark cells.

Rinse off the mask and follow with White D-tox regenerating intensive “Moisture White” mask-
this incredible tissue mask will intensely hydrate and lighten a dull complexion. Leave on for 10 minutes then massage in product that is on the skin. This will aid in the penetration of all the
essential ingredients.

TIP: Regardless of your skin type, ensure you apply White D-tox make up base every day.
It has an SPF of 25+, to provide protection from the suns damaging rays. It also aids in colour correction and help your foundations last longer.

I am interested in trying out the new White D-tox Cellular Whitening Essence (as pictured above). Anyone tried it yet? Any good?

Paper Wrapped Chicken

This is one of my favorite childhood dish. One that my mom rarely makes because it is troublesome. But hey, look! I whipped it up in less than 30 minutes.

Marinated the chicken and flavor overnight. Don’t be afraid of the oil. It gets drained away.

The messier the better. The chicken tasted soft and full of flavor.

Imagine the texture of the chicken much like the ones in lo mai kai. The taste for this one is just plain addictive and yummy. The dominant fragrant is sesame oil.

Chanel: Rouge Allure Laque

The Good Bits:

  • Lipstick/gloss hybrid.
  • Very convenient applicator wand.
  • Very pigmented. Intense is the key word.
  • Creamy texture that is super long lasting. We are talking about 6-8 hrs mark here.
  • Beautiful elegant discreet packaging.
  • Non drying formula.

The Bad Bits:

  • Limited colour range. A hot pink shade would be good. The shades are all in the ‘Chanel’ word in the picture above.
  • No SPF.

Here’s a video of Rouge Allure Laque. #76 is a perfect pink shade if you are big on nude lips.

I love this lipstick/gloss hybrid. In case you haven’t notice I am big on lipstick. This one is a clear winner. All I had to do was to prep my lips with sunscreen, one careful application with the super-easy-to-use-wand and I’m out the door. No lipliner, lipbrush, blotting, etc.

Dare I say, this is heaven sent for me. At AUD$55 each they are pretty reasonable too. I am juggling between #76 and #78. Loves it.

SKII: Whitening Source Dermdefinition

The Good Bits:

  • Moisturizing
  • Gel based, texture was very light and easily absorbed.
  • Overall, skin appeared slightly clearer and fairer with translucent glow.
  • Star ingredients: Pitera, Niacinamide & Ascorbyl Glucoside

The Bad Bits:

  • Didn’t deliver brightening to dark spots/scar as advertised.
  • Expensive
  • Smells very strongly of pitera

At best this intensive serum was moisturizing and slightly whitening/brightening the skin’s overall texture/appearance. However, it did little to nothing on my scars/dark spots. With its price, I think there are many other products out there in the market that will definitely outperform this serum. Unless you have cash to throw, I’d suggest to do some research and look up serums that would suit your skin/problem and purchase other serums rather than this.

Clinique: Youth Surge SPF 15 Age Decelerating Moisturizer

The Good Bits:

  • Good sturdy jar packaging.

The Bad Bits:

  • Smells like typical Clinique cream.
  • It also smells quite heavy of sunscreen which is confusing since this only contain SPF 15.
  • SPF is not high enough, a proper broad spectrum sunscreen is required.
  • A little greasy for my normal/dry skin even after 15 minutes upon application.
  • Takes some effort to smooth out this moisturizer as it is quite thick/creamy.
  • Doesn’t come with spatula.
  • TROUBLESOME! Small little white flakes appeared when I was massaging my tinted moisturizer. This hasn’t happen when I pair my same tinted moisturizer with other moisturizers.

This fancy not-so-new moisturizer’s key selling point is for claiming itself as being one of the 1st moisturizer that emphasizes on age decelerating. (Estee Lauder has got one similar product too.)
However I really think that this moisturizer is just another anti-aging moisturizer by the end of the day. So I wasn’t very carried away by its fancy selling point.

I was overall pretty disappointed with this cream. I have almost nothing good to say about it. After continuously using this moisturizer for a month (Day time), I still haven’t seen any proper/change to my skin. I did actually anticipated it’d work for me after all the positive reviews now that it was a flop for me, I am using this as a neck cream for day time now.

Eats: Tokushima

Sashimi (inexpensive good selection sashimi)

Grilled squid with grandma sauce (nice and chewy; sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking)

Deep Fried soft shell crab (winner of the night)

Scallop sushi

Perfectly portioned bento. It has a little bit of everything.
Especially love the onion + chicken combo.

Le garçon had his tepanyaki unagi.
It was so fresh unlike those restaurant that serve it directly from the packet.

Tokushima does quite an impressive line of entree that are pretty unusual. We noticed that most customers ordered many entrees to share as a main. We’ll definitely hit back this homey Japanese restaurant some time soon.

Service was impeccable. They even walk you out the door if you do take away and the waitress asked every single person how was their meal.
