I've been in Melbourne for some time now and I have a few good beauty salon, spas, hairdressers that I am loyal to and would love to recommend to everyone. I have to admit it was rather difficult at the beginning searching high and low for the good experience/good service and value for money beauty treatments around town. Plenty of trial and error later and it was down to these notable ones.
For haircuts, colour/highlight, hair extension I go to: Sui Hair Salon
It is a Korean hair salon and dare I say they do the best colour job and curling/setting my hair just the way I love it to be. I have been loyal to this particular hairdresser (Sally) for almost 5 years now. Not only does she do my hair she practically teaches me to do my hair at home and showers me with free fringe haircuts.
For facials I go to: La Face
While they do a whole lot more than just facials (mani, pedi, wax, massage, laser, makeup, etc); what really takes the cake is their facials (New York Facial, Detox) and features the most impressive anti-ageing facial treatments. Green peels, Collagen facial and my all time favourite Photo-rejuvenation treatments.
For spa I go to: Sakuta Lounge
Inexpensive Japanese soothing massages. They also feature Hawaiian/Thai massage (haven't try these out yet). I recommend Deep Tissue Massage and their Japanese Princess package and Lovers package.
For eyelash extension I go to: Love Those Lashes
Featured in Marie Claire. Need to say more? Right now they have a promotion going on. Bring a friend and it is only $75 per head. You cannot get any better value than that! They do the most unnoticeable/natural eyelash extension. Believe me because I have lived in falsies & tried many eyelash extension salons in town and have never found one that delivers quite like this.
P/S: Who wanna go? I am up for another round.
For mani/pedi I go to: French Pink
Read this review here.
For eyebrow go to: Eyebrow Queen
Straightforward eyebrow shaping or tint. Models, dancers and celebrities go here.
For waxing.... I am still undecided because I have yet to try out many different waxing salon especially this is a very personal experience that I have only just recently embarked.
So far Take Off Waxing is looking good.
P/S: Other noteworthy ones: Ella Bache (Melb Central), Tahitian Beauty (CBD) & Kocho (Collin St).

Thanks for the recommendations! I'd love to check them out sometime :)
I just booked the Japanese Princess Package at Sakura Lounge!! :P
Wow, that's practically very soon!! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
I have to say Tahitian beauty was a disappointment. They left bits of wax everywhere on me that stuck to my underwear. I go to Skin Deep (either Block Arcade or QV) for facials and waxing.
YJ,
I haven't tried waxing at Tahitian but the facials were pretty good value for money. ;)
Good information.
I came across many queries in several forums where people have been asking for advice on the best glue that can be used on nails and that is not only strong but also safe on nails. This was the same question I had sometime back when I used to apply nail gel myself. Initially the glue I got would never hold on the way it used to when done in the salon. I then came across the nail glue being sold on gel-nails which lasts very long and is pretty easy to apply. It provides a strong bonding for my nails and also does a great job in repairing the nail tips.
Most important of all is that this is strong glue I was actually looking out for and this is used by nail salons and nail artists for professional applications. It is available at a cheap price at gel-nails and I remember seeing it at a discount of 74% which is great. Maybe this can help if you also face problems relating to poor glue quality as I did earlier.
that Gel Nails is a spam comment.. left the exact same message on my blog..
