Movie: Bruno

Two words: simply genius.

As always, Sacha Baron Cohen brought to the table a controversial, cringe worthy and hilarious movie. Last night, we were able to catch its Australia’s premiere and we totally loved it. We were laughing from the very beginning to the end and the movie went pass so quick; we wanted more.

If you think Borat was full on; be prepare for Bruno because its full frontal, vulgar and politically incorrect. However, Bruno somehow made it all watchable and hilarious.

No doubt this movie and Bruno himself is going to be viral and plenty of people will start showing up in Bruno inspired outfits in parties and whatnot.

Bruno will be out in cinemas this Thursday onwards. Run, don’t walk.

Dermalogica: Daylight Defense Super Sensitive FaceBlock SPF30

The Good Bits:

  • SPF30 faceblock that has both UVA & UVB protection
  • Free of chemical sunscreen, great for sensitive skin.
  • Star ingredients: Lavender, Green Tea, Licorice & mineral UV-blockers Titanium Dioxide + Zinc Oxide
  • No artificial colour/fragrance
  • Good squeeze bottle packaging
  • White thick liquid texture.
  • No white cast leftover after applying liberally all over the face & neck area.
  • I applied this near/around eye area and so far so good. No bad reaction whatsoever.
  • Does not affect my daily makeup routine. Sits well under my makeup.
  • Does not break me out

The Bad Bits:

  • Expensive for such a small bottle of sunscreen
  • Because of its thick texture; this requires time to properly smooth/massage it into the face.
  • Needs sometime for absorption and may leave a slight greasy finish but the greasiness is very minimal though.

Overall, I love this sunscreen. Knowing that it has SPF30 protection for my face and skin is a good start. I would consider to repurchase this faceblock once it runs out. The bottle packaging is so cute and practical. My only concern is that it is on the expensive side especially AUD60+ for 50ml of sunscreen is pretty insane. At this rate, I think one bottle might only last me one and a half month or so. Other than the price, I am pretty satisfied with this faceblock. One of the best I’ve tried so far.

Fun facts:

It contains:

• Hyaluronic Acid holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water for optimal hydration.
• Dimethicone (Silicones) protects and reinforces barrier lipids, which are often compromised in sensitized skin conditions.

Eats: Misty’s Diners

Naked Dog

This naked dog is definitely my favorite hot dog and by far the best in Melbourne. The bun is always warm, soft and fluffy. The mustard and tomato sauce was just right and the sausage is without skin and chunky. The cheese is melted and oozing like how a good dog should be.

Fish & Chips (New on the menu)

The fish and chips is just plain genius. The fish was very cunky and the chips were so generous. Every single chips were thin and crunchy in every sides and was topped with this herby salt. The sauce that came with it was creamy and was packed with a creamy flavor hit as well.

All in all , we love Misty’s Diner and we are almost always back for their dogs and fish & chips. They have such a huge impressive menu, reasonable pricing and very tasty food.
