Favourite picks: Essence/Toner

Girls have always asked/email me regarding what’s my favourite cleanser, what’s your favourite moisturiser, etc. So, I’ve thought what better way to start a series of post (hopefully once a week) regarding my favourite skincare products.

This week, I will start with essence/toner. These three products are the ones I have used throughout the years and can actually see + feel a difference to my skin.

SKII Facial Essence

This one sits in a somewhat Holy Grail status in my skincare routine. I always find myself rotate back to this essence throughout the years.
Simply because it did brighten my face tremendously and moisturisers my skin.

La Mer – The Radiant Infusion

This one delivers radiance, clarity and tones the skin.
It is also so luxurious to use and results are clearly visible after just a few use.
If it wasn’t for the price, it’d definitely be in my Holy Grail products list as well.

Shu Uemura – Depsea Moisture Replenishing Essence

This is my life saviour when it comes to colder months.
Excellent for travel as well because of its deep moisturising ability.
My skin is always supple and soft when I use this.

Some of the others that is worth mentioning are:

  • Shiseido’s skin softener
  • La Prairie’s cellular refining lotion
  • Aesop’s parsley seed anti-oxidant facial toner

Share with me what’s your favourite essence/toner products.

TRESemme: 24 Hour Body Sculpting Spray Gel

The Good Bits:

  • Designed for the Australian condition resist the humid condition
  • Weightless formula
  • Suitable to use everyday
  • Doesn’t have strong smell either
  • Helps to maintain fuller style all day long
  • Star ingredient: Volume Control Complex*
  • Best use with the 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray (I blogged about yesterday)
  • Especially love the spray design, it is so cute
  • Creates volumes and waves (read my tip below)
  • Inexpensive

The Bad Bits:

  • Now I can never go back to hair without styling products especially after you’ve seen what this can do to your hair.

Apply to slightly damp hair, comb through to distribute evenly and blow dry to your heart’s content. How easy it that?

or

For the lazy, I’d usually spray this over towel dried hair, blow to 70% dry and tie my hair into a bun/couple of buns depending how much volume you want. Leave it overnight and you’ll have awesome gorgeous curly + wavy hair the next day.

TRESemme’s 24 Hour Body range impressed me with their weightless formula and almost scentless products. Try it, buy it and love it.

RRP AUD $7.95

*Volume Control Complex is a dual polymer system that provides a superior barrier to humidity. Once the products are applied, the formulations form a film around the hair shaft, essentially creating a physical barrier to humidity.

My Beauty Routine (extra-long weekend edition)

Let’s face it, being presentable on a daily basis requires a lot of work in the bathroom and more often than not, it is time consuming too. That is why I have these little beauty routine I do over the weekends to help save precious time over the weekdays.

On Mondays – Fridays:

Other than my usual skincare routine, shampoo + conditionier and applying full body moisturiser after shower everyday; I sometimes do these whenever they are needed. They are all optional and sometimes I don’t even do any of it when I get really busy.

  1. Acne/purifying mask – when I see acne forming.
  2. Nose pore mask – when I see my nose hijacked by those black gunk.
  3. Massage cuticle oil on my fingernails and toenails.
  4. Facial scrub – I rarely do this unless I feel my skin really needs it.
  5. Remove nail polish – I usually do these on the Fridays.

On Saturdays:

I do these every Saturday without fail:

  1. Full body dry scrub/ dry body brushing
  2. Body hair removal
  3. Leg massage to boost circulation for my hips and legs
  4. One of the following depending on my skin condition: a facial peel, facial cloth mask, multivitamin booster mask, hydrating mask or purifying mask.
  5. Massage cuticle oil on my fingernails and toenails.

On Sundays:

Sundays ritual are usually the longest.

  1. Hair Mask
  2. Full body dry scrub/ dry body brushing
  3. Facial scrub
  4. Facial hair removal
  5. Fingernails/Toenails polish
  6. Mini facial + neck massage
  7. Massage cuticle oil on my fingernails and toenails.
  8. One of the following depending on my skin condition: a facial peel, facial cloth mask, multivitamin booster mask, hydrating mask or purifying mask.

Share with me your beauty routine, I’d love to hear all about it. If you have any time saving ones be sure to fire them my way.

TRESemme – 24 Hour Root Boosting Spray

The Good Bits:

  • Love the packaging. (You can never go wrong with black and hot pink!)
  • Designed for the Australian condition resist the humid condition
  • Weightless formula
  • Suitable for everyday use on freshly washed, towel dried hair
  • Star ingredient: Volume Control Complex*
  • Delivers lift to my thick, heavy and limp hair. (Sounds wrong doesn’t it? *wink*)
  • Doesn’t smells strong like most hair products do.
  • Inexpensive!!!
  • THE BEST BIT: It helps to prolongs my hair from being oily-looking at Day 2.

The Bad Bits:

  • So damn addictive!

Ever since root juice was recalled, I have been having a hard time finding a root boosting product that doesn’t contribute to making my hair look oily or one that helps control the oily for second day hair.

This one is a trooper and has totally earned its top spot on my beauty must-have for lift and non oily hair.

RRP AUD $7.95
