On body image

So I have been reading all these skinny bashing articles and posts across various media lately and felt a little overwhelmed by all these coverage. I don't know about you but these all seem a little hypocritical to me.

With all the skinny models, actresses, Photoshopped images and Australia still manage to be one of the most obese country IN THE WORLD, can you imagine when they start embracing bigger girls in magazines and fashion shows?

I say enough with the skinny bashing and start bashing the obese ones. Everyone has a choice to have whatever body they want, end of day it is about YOU willing to make the change and that's got nothing to do with the media.

    Thanks for talking some sense!

I think that when you come out with things such as "My secret to losing weight and especially around the tummy area is to skip dinner every night. I have big breakfast and lunch and no dindin." you're not really someone who should be lecturing on body image =\

Jo, it sounds like ponkuta hit a nerve in you. Is that because you have trouble losing weight I wonder? Keep your opinions to yourself next time as they are not appreciated by anyone. You coming on here and making a comment like that trying to be high and mighty, I bet you are just some lonely sad person in real life. You have nothing, and you should go a crawl back the the hole you came from.

I could keep my opinions to myself... or I could leave a public comment on a public blog advertised on ponikuta's public twitter feed - differences of opinion are what make the internet great, anonymous 9:59. If ponikuta doesn't want comments which disagree with her then she should turn them off or censor them before they're published.

Bash me as much as you like (assumptions made about people onthe internet are always 100% correct!), but regularly skipping meals will make you a)unhappy b)unhealthy c)fucked in the head - even if it does make you skinny.

No need to get mad now. Profanity will only show weakness. You know what else is so great about the internet? Trolls like you that ruin the society of the internet. The world would be so better off without people like you. You are probably a introvert and have no guts to give opinions to people face to face thus you mask yourself behind a computer and troll the internet.

Jo - I agree skipping important meals are unhealthy, but everyone is different. I have big breakfast, lunch and snack throughout the day at work usually up to 5pm, hence I'm usually not hungry for dinner. For the record, I am happy and I am certainly not fucked in the head or at least I don't go around telling people what they 'can' and 'can't' do.

    Anonymous 1:15 - Be nice.
