I have been dropping hints on twitter mentioning that my blog is going to expand for some time now. You see like every other girl I certainly enjoy skincare/makeup and shoes, particularly high heels. After much consideration, I’ve decided to incorporate a weekly section for high heels in my blog from next week onwards.
Shoes like beauty products need to be trial and tested before making a purchase. As a female, I have traveled down the road of purchasing something only to find that it doesn’t fit/is not comfortable/does not look like the real product online. I am sure you have experience something similar surely whether if it is a piece of garment that looks hot on magazine or a jar of facial cream that everyone swears by.
I will not pressure you into anything like that, I will be showcasing shoes that are available in Australia, something you can have a look and is readily available in the shop by the time I publish my weekly showcase; nothing far fetched, nothing unwearable *cough* runway and nothing that is unattainable.
I sincerely hope you’ll like this exciting new section I have been working on and I’d appreciate any feedback that you may have (obviously only the positive ones, just kidding).
So look out for the first installment next week ladies.
P/S: Since Mel has been doing such a great job with guest reviewing and is always so willing and lovely to be the guinea pig to try out products, I’ve decided to have her as a permanent fixture on Ponikuta.com at least for the next couple of months. Do stay tune for her guest reviews to come and please make her feel welcome y’all.
Exciting times,
Val xx

- Rooibos tea has long renowned for its ability to prevent and treat a range of ailments
- High in antioxidant
- Organic and is low in tannins
- Doubles as an inexpensive skin freshener just mist cold Rooibos Tea to skin for a refreshing change. Other ways you can use this is to add a bag or two into your bath to rid itchy/dry skin and add shine to your hair by rinsing it with cooled Rooibos tea.
- You can also apply warm tea bag to the skin to help soothe/calm puffy eyes or blotchy skin
Prefer it to: Taste a bit better. I’ll be honest, the first time sipping got me pretty disgusted with it because of its strong earthy/woody notes but like with other food, you’ll get use to it in time. They also encourage to use drink this with some honey or milk.
Great for: People who can’t take caffeine like myself. If you’re looking for a tea that’s high in antioxidant this is it! I’ve always find green tea gives me the bloat but this Rooibos tea doesn’t gives me any bloat issues which is a bonus!

Worth your money bits:
- I am fickle minded I know, I’m kinda obsessed over this spray instead of the original treatment oil. Reason is because it is so EASY to apply. Shake bottle and spray, gettit? No oil residue on the palm FTW.
- Smells soothingly amazing (as with all their other products, I currently have 2352 Moroccanoil products sitting on my beauty cabinet, no kidding and they all smells exactly the same).
- If the treatment oil is lightweight, this one is no weight
- For brunettes, there’s a fine line between shiny and greasy. This one keeps you on the shiny side, never the greasy end.
- Must have for Moroccanoil fan. This is a clear winner for me because of the convenience, protects hair from UV exposure and free radical.
- Recommended to only use on dry hair, my favourite tip is to mist the shine spray all over my hairbrush prior to brushing my hair.
- Last but not least, because it is a cult favourite and is heavily featured in New York Fashion Week and has finally arrived in our shore, do you really need another excuse to buy this gem already?
Prefer it to: N/A
Great for: Not too severly damaged hair because you will still need the treatment oil for that. This one hydrates your hair and pumps shine to your locks and turn them into Goldilocks.
Available in all good salons and in AdoreBeauty from June onwards
Worth your money bits:
- A refreshing change of eye-popping colours in winter
- These totally wearable colours are the perfect accessories to the usual monotone winter wear
- #Chinchilly – Sleek granite gray
- #Angora Cardi – Deep dusty rose (understated colour that gives a hint of girliness)
- #Mink Muffs – Smoky plush taupe (my favourite from the collection)
- #Midnight Cami – Shimmering twilight blue
- #Bright Tights – Electric orange burst (This orange shade is unusual, the good kinda unusual, definitely uplifting whenever I stare at my fingers)
- #Pink Parka – Piping hot pink
- Essie nail polish always glides on effortlessly and is never clumpy. I also love their much softer selection of colours to choose from than the regular “strong statement” nail polish brands. If you ever want to look for the perfect pastel or perfect nude polish, Essie is the best place to start with!
TIP FROM ESSIE WEINGARTEN: As the seasons change and the air is cooler, keep nails and cuticles moisturized with essie Apricot Cuticle Oil. Keep it by your bed and massage into cuticles every night.
