SKII: Whitening Source Range

SKII Whitening Source Clear Lotion
RRP AUD$100

Much like a toner step. Use right after cleansing the face. This pearlised lotion feels like a water gel liquid and melts into the skin instantly. It is recommended to pump 1-2 pumps onto a cotton pad and massage all over face.
This lotion can be used daily to remove old skin cells, dirt and leftover makeup to promote a radiant, brighten skin and enhance the skin cell renewal cycle. It is also oil-free so even if you have oily skin, you can use this without worrying about shine/grease by mid day. Each time I use this lotion my skin is at least 20% brighter in appearance I swear. Must be heaps of dead skin cell sticking to me skin on a daily basis.

SKII Whitening Source Dermdefinition
RRP AUD$175

Promising radiance and luminosity, this serum is my current favourite serum. Contains DermaComplex enriched with pitera. Overtime, uneven skin, pigmentation, freckles and dark spots subsides.
Each time when I apply this milky white serum (you only need 2-3 drops for the whole face and neck), my skin feels so silky and smooth. Skin also appear to be tighter and brighter in appearance. Try it to see the results yourself, I was amazed when I saw the results.
SKII Whitening Source Derm-Brightener
RRP AUD$195

This cream should win an award or something like seriously. I’ve never loved a jar packaged skincare product more than this one. This jar comes with an innovative dispenser that releases just the right amount of cream to use each time. It’s hygienic, keeps the product fresh and is a genius idea. Here are some pictures that I took.
This is how it looks like when I took off the lid.
Twist the top bit of the jar and you can see cream coming out

After just one gentle short twist, there’s enough cream dispensed for the whole face and neck.
One of the most skin-whitening moisturiser I have ever tried. It’s a little rich hence only very little at once is needed for the skin and neck. That being said, after about 2-3 minutes massaging the cream onto my skin, there was no trace of stickiness or greasiness on my skin. My skin felt silky smooth.
The moisturiser delivers moisture to the skin, brightens the skin and keeps skin silky smooth all day long.
Like with most Asian, our biggest concern is having lacklustre skin (second would be pigmentation) without makeup. The brightening/whitening effect that we crave for is not to have skin looking sickening white but more for a healthier, luminous finish. SKII understands that and delivers those results with these products.

SKII Whitening Source Derm-Revival Mask
RRP AUD$160

Comes in a pack of 6, each piece would cost roughly $27 and yes it is expensive. Is it worth it you ask? HELL TO THE YES! Everyone knows that I am a big fan of facial cloth masks, I’ve tried almost every brand out there in the market (including the SKII ones) nothing beats this SKII Whitening mask.

The results from using this mask is amazingly incredible! It plumped my skin, toned, translucent, luminous, radiant and brighten it so well that it almost canceled out all my flaws.

Words are rubbish, I’ll let you be the judge with this picture.

This is the result of the lotion, serum, facial mask and the moisturiser applied onto my skin. I didn’t even needed foundation, just some brow/eyes makeup and some lipstick.
There’s no blush/foundation in the picture above. I was so impressed I vowed that if I ever win the lottery ticket, I’d buy all the Whitening Source Derm Revival Mask in the world and use it every day. (That’d cost rougly $9600 each year, no biggie right?) Until then, I’m saving these babies for special occasion. Everyone should have a box of these goodies in their fridge for said special occasions.

Beauty Service Announcement: No Tan Jan

Like spending time under the sun?
Frequent the solariums?

Did you know by doing all those you are actually increasing your risk of developing skin cancer and damages your skin in the process by accelerating the premature ageing process.

Recently, The Warwick Foundation launched a new campaign – No Tan Jan! to educate and raise awareness among young women about the real danger of spending excessive time under the sun.

The Warwick Foundation is Australia’s first and only organisation focused on supporting 18 – 40 year olds with cancer.
Sadly, melanoma is the most common cancer for this age group and we want that to change! No Tan Jan is all about ditching the solarium, breaking up with sunbaking and embracing fake tan for the month of January. At the same time you will raise much needed funds for all young adults with cancer.

If you are short of time and want to squeeze in a last minute Christmas present, why not donate to charity for good karma?

Gorgeous Cosmetics: Makeup Picks!

Powder Blush – Colour Pro #Apples
RRP AUD$35

I get lovely comments each time I wear this blush.
Results are long lasting and colour is very true to what you see in the packaging.
#Apples is a pinkish/orangey shade.

Shimmer Dust – #Spritz
RRP AUD$25

I have to be honest, 90% of the dust/pigments I’ve tested can be messy and most of the packaging doesn’t help either. However, the colour payoff is usually worth the trouble.
I used their #017  brush to apply, first dab the whole eye with the shimmer prior to blending it.
iPrime – Eye Shadow Base
RRP AUD$37

Eye makeup base with a very unique texture. It’s creamy but has a ‘wet’ feel to it, maybe it’s water based?
It comes with a white-ish colour to help soften and even out the skin tone on the lids.
Madam Lash Eyelashes
RRP AUD$18-$19.50

Soft, natural to glamorous and ‘out there’ lashes are available.
The base of the eye lashes are very easy to apply and the shape stays even after couple of wears.
My favourite picks: #Mini, #Miss Flirty #Miss Naughty and #Von Teese.
Some of the other makeup products worth checking out includes:
  • First Base Foundation Primer (contains soothing ingredient for sensitive skin very refreshing to the skin),
  • lipstick (creamy and matt),
  • Formula Five Mascara (oh hey volume!)
  • iINK Liquid Eye Pencil (the name can be quite confusing, it’s an eye pencil but the finish is like a liquid eyeliner, I tried #carbon black and the black is the blackest black I’ve ever experienced with an eye pencil. It smudged a tiny bit but the shape and intensity lasted all day long, I’m impressed!)

Gilette: Venus Spa Breeze

Why I love it:

  • It’s a cheap alternative to waxing and if you are doing IPL you’d have been told to shave in between treatments.
  • This shaver releases gooey gel when you shave in the shower (this sensation is quite unusual) and helps to transform the skin into a silky smooth base to shave
  • I’ve find that you need to push the shaver firmly onto skin while shaving to ensure a closer shave, otherwise you might not get a smooth shave due to the gel bars sticking out of the shaving head.
  • Shave aside, I find the blade is easy to maneuver around different areas of the body.
  • Smells amazing – White Tea scented!
  • Comes in a shaver stand and a disposable heads.
  • The best part is there’s no redness, irritation, cuts or sensitivity with this shaver, I LOVE IT!
  • With Summer coming up and more skin showing, this is no doubt my pick of shaver this Summer. If you shave daily, each head should last about 1-2 months.

Schwarzkopf Extra Care: Push-Up Volume Collection

Why I love it:

  • The shampoo is a clear gel that feels very lightweight to wash my hair with. Foams up pretty well, no complains there.
  • Conditioner comes with a collagen complex (that’s known to lift the hair from its root creating volume)
  • Overtime, the shampoo + conditioner combo not only reduces the hair to weight down but it also helps with the strength and shine.
  • With the Push-Up Volume Lotion, best used with damp hair as it’s a little sticky if you use on dry hair.Always mix product on palm and warm it up between palms prior to distributing it all over hair. Also make sure a little goes a long way, I’d use one pump each time. Anything more than that you’ll risk having hair sticking together.
  • As for the results, I find the shampoo and conditioner actually makes my hair feel lighter. It’s one of those feelings you feel when you get your hair washed in the salon.
  • Great for thin, flat, lifeless hair
  • TIP: Apply the lotion onto damp hair and blow dry to ensure maximum volume.

On Train Rides

There’s two types of people who rides the train:

  • People who shove to board the train and people who don’t
  • People who stink with bad breathe and people who don’t
  • People who have BO and people who don’t
  • People who push to squeeze in and people who don’t
  • People who step over your feet and do not apologise and people who apologise
  • People who blast their music through their headphones and people who don’t
  • People who ignores elderly/pregnant woman in need of a seat and people who acknowledge

I catch the train to work everyday and let me tell you this, I come across at least one of annoying people like that each day. FML.
