The direct translation for this brand from Chinese is ‘Beautiful Skin Diary’. I came across this when I was shopping in Malaysia; in one of the many beauty shops that I can now no longer remember from where.
At first, I thought a blemish facial mask is interesting and certainly not something I’ve seen. It promises to replenish moisture, regulates oil balance and is perfect for acne prone skin.
I bought a box of this and uses this each time I get a breakout. What can I say? I highly recommend this, it does exactly what it promises and I’ve seen a huge improvement in whitening as well. I am sure you can find it online.
P/S: Turns out this mask is one of their best selling product and is now on sale in Sasa.
Why I love it:
- Comes in a tin jar packaging that requires some firm rubbing to extract the products
- Contains SPF15 to protect lips from damaging UVB rays (tres important ladies!)
- The balm has a waxy texture and also smells like wax (may not be everyone’s cup of tea)
- Waxy texture acts as a protective layer on the lips to soothes and condition the lips be preventing dryness and flaking
- Star ingredients: Wheat Germ, Olive oil, Petrolatum, Beeswax, Aloe Vera, Coffee Seed Extract, Avocado oil
- I find the balm very long lasting and natural looking. It doesn’t look and feel too shiny/glossy/sticky on the lips.

For those of you who asked what’s a BB cream, I thought I’d put together a list of some helpful links to read all about it. BB Cream is also known as Blemish Balm Cream originally designed for post-op patients.
- Here is a list of BB cream I have previously reviewed*. Click here for the archive: http://www.ponikuta.com/search/label/BB%20Cream
- This link has really in depth how-to videos and compiles a list of BB cream reviews and options to consider. http://www.squidoo.com/b-b-cream
- BB cream can be tricky, sometimes it can be perfect for some people but not so great on others. Especially now there’s hundreds of brands out there that carries BB cream including MAC, Maybelline, Clinique and what not in Asia, you pretty much have to do heaps of research, testing and to find out what suits your skin tone best. To me sometimes it can be a case of hit or miss.
- BB cream only look good on skin if you use a tiny amount of it, anything more it will have a reverse effect on the skin and won’t look natural.
- Where can I get BB cream? You can pretty much find them everywhere online from eBay to dedicated BB cream shops. Some of the rather popular and reputable ones are:
*I have also used BRTC Whitening & Repairing BB Cream that I love but didn’t got around to reviewing it (I might in the future) and Naruko Narcissus Total Defence BB Cream Essence which I didn’t like as much and do not intend to review. My personal favourite is still between Skinfood, BRTC and Estee Lauder.

For those of you who are interested in getting an IPL machine to use at the comfort of your own home, I strongly recommend for you to at least have one session of IPL treatment done in a professional salon. This way, you get to ‘learn’ and ‘expect’ what is instore for you when you use E-One at your own privacy. .
I am currently trialling the E-One device (in pink!) and thought I’ll break up the parts into a few and show you results along the way. This is part one and I will be explaining and showing you what it involves.
What is an E-One you ask?
It’s the first medical hair removal device using IPL technology for home use. This is their website and you can read all about IPL Advantages, Instruction for use and Usage Precautions in depth on their site.
Does it hurt?
Now I’m not saying, it’s everyone’s cup of tea because in reality there will be some sort of ‘pain‘ involve when it comes to any IPL treatments. You will find some bits more subjective to pain than other parts. Most of all they are all tolerable for me. If you can stand the session from the salon, then you will most probably have no issues with E-One.
Do I need to prepare anything?
Fairly simple, all you need to do is examine where your hair growth are, shave all hair and start zapping it with IPL. That’s it. No waxing or tweezing 3 weeks prior to the session.
How do I use it?
Easy. Pop on the safety glasses, mark the area, spread the area generously with the gel and charge the machine until the handle light is green (as pictured below) and start zapping away*. For armpits, it took me around 3-5 minutes each side and a little longer for the legs based on the area.
*Make sure you’ve patch tested and know which level of power suits you best.

- If you have a big day tomorrow and need to style your hair, try to resist using conditioner/mask on hair prior to that. This is so that your hair has more grip and is easier to build volume.
- If you have really fine or smooth hair, blast mousse to hair from root to tips and dry with a blow dryer prior to styling.
- When it comes to styling, always have a picture in mind and discuss with your stylist to ensure you get the best results out of it.
- If you wish for your hairstyle to last overnight, sleep with a loose shower cap. Scarf just didn’t cut it for me as I’m a rough sleeper.
- Hairspray is your best friend. Find one that doesn’t make your hair look crunchy.
