Are you stuck in a skincare rut and need a breathe of fresh air to mix things up a little? Fret not, this happens to me all the time, hence I am constantly switching things up once in a while to ensure my skin gets the most benefit out of the skincare routine. Biotherm recently released the Skin.Ergetic range that boosts live and energy back into skin.
So who is thisĀ Skin.Ergetic range designed for? For us who live the modern life of course. If you lead an unbalanced lifestyle, stresses, have unbalanced diet and having exposed to pollution all the time, then your skin will need to re-energise too. Got dull, lacklustre, dehydrated, stress skin? This will be the answer to your prayers.
Here are my thoughts on the products:
Skin.ergetic Energy Up Complex Serum RRP AUD$74
- An innovative, fresh concept that retains the freshness of the ingredients by having to DIY yourself. All you need to do is mix the vial of ‘dry’ concentrate into the bottle ‘wet’ content to activate the serum. This ensures nothing but the freshest product on to your skin.
- This fluid textured serum is deigned to fight fatigue, dullness and general skin concern by keeping skin well hydrated and effectively radiant boosting.
- Star ingredients: Broccoli, Apple, Soy, Lemon, Sugar Cane (Sound good enough to eat!)
- This serum is also paraben free, mineral oil free, synthetic colorant free and is suitable for even sensitive skin
- After almost a month into this, I find my skin overall appearance looks smoother and less random breakout. My VISIA test done yesterday came back with glowing results in terms of skin texture and ageing concerns.
Skin.ergetic Non Stop Anti- Fatigue Moisturiser RRP AUD$65
- Housed in Biotherm’s signature roundish jar, this day moisturiser comes in cream gel and cream option. I went for the cream gel as I have oily/combination skin.
- Even though this is a day cream it doesn’t come with SPF so be sure to pop a thick layer of SPF everyday after moisturising.
- This moisturiser focuses on 5 active fruit and vegetable extracts much like the serum to target fre radical and protect skin from environmental elements, keeping skin fresh and luminous.
- It also smells very citrusy perfect for a morning refreshing moisturiser.
Skin.ergetic Night Recovery Moisturiser RRP AUD$65
- Works similarly to the day moisturiser, the night moisturiser is a tad richer than the day moisturiser
- It works to fight visible signs of fatigue, so in the morning you’re guaranteed well rested skin.
- Star ingredients: Tea, Buckwheat, Ruscus, Soy and Cranberry
- The cranberry scent is quite dominant in this cream and it gives skin a smooth and well hydrated feel right after application. Be sure to massage the cream into the skin until fully absorbed.
All Biotherm products are available on counter and online via AdoreBeauty
Why I love it:
- Comes in Rose, Jasmine and the Enriching Body Cream version which is fragrance-free but still delivers the same lock-in moisture ability
- Containing skin loving ingredients like Jojoba oil, Shea, Cocoa butter, Licorice Root, Chamomile, Pansy, Sweet Violet, Calendula, Witch Hazel, Rose Gallica, Carrot oil; this body cream guarantees softer and supple skin and it is best used straight after shower when skin is still damp, this will assist with body cream absorption
- If you’re one of those people who hate the sticky feeling of most body cream leaves, you’ll love how lightweight and hydrating this is. It looks and feels rich once squeezed out of the tube but once messaged it sinks right into the skin and keeps it hydrated much to the Jurlique’s hand cream. If you’re familiar with the hand creams, you’ll love this body cream
- Rich in natural products and leaves skin well hydrated preventing it from drying, what’s there not to love?
RRP AUD$18 (50ml)
RRP AUD$40 (150ml)

Illamasqua’s latest make up collection – Magenta Muse has launched on counter bursting with colours like grey, mauve, magenta and teal. These colours are perfect for the deary weather this Winter. Personally, I love anything purple hues – mauve, magenta, indigo, etc.
Here are some of the swatches from this collection, what do you think?
Sheer lip gloss in#Tantrum
In natural lighting, this gloss is sheer and gives the lightest hint of colour. This lip gloss will appear different depending on your natural lip colour. My natural lip colour is quite red to begin with.
Indoor lighting, you can see more of the magenta hue.
Lipstick in #Underworld, I find this lipstick quite sheer as well, need to apply quite a few times for colour buildup.
This is taken after roughly 3-4 applications, it reminds me of My Little Pony! Sheer with a hint of dual tone colour.
Cream Pigment in #Dab
This cream pigment is true to its name, creamy and easy to smooth onto.
The color is a light lavender shade that is very complimentary to all skin tones.
Nail Varnish in #Muse & #DWS
#DWS
#Muse – My favourite colour of the lot. It’s a gorgeous shade of teal.

Last week, I got to sit down with Marie Drago to talk all things beauty from Soap & Glory. When I think of Soap & Glory (S&G), I think about how awesomely affordable the range is, how quirky the by lines are and how pink everything is. Definitely three very smart elements in my book when you compare with a sea of beauty products all looking posh and fancy but can somewhat look dull at times. S&G products definitely stands out in this department.
The story behind Soap & Glory brand is actually a simple one, after founding and selling the successful Bliss spa and Bliss beauty products, Marcia Kilgore proceed to launch Soap & Glory and FitFlop. The inspiration to start up this brand is believe it or not, trashy tabloids + glamour + a gift from someone – an apron with 50s inspired housewife slurping on a spaghetti. Classic!Ā Five years down the road, the brand is doing swell and has launched in Australia last October.
Being the successful and busy bee that she is, you’ll be surprised that Marcie still write every tag line in every single product launched for Soap & Glory. Her goal is to deliver a punch of humour to every women out there and to continue to create affordable products by having a small tight group of five people who focus on quality and products; not so much on marketing/advertising. Smart move, I’d say to that!
If you haven’t had a chance to suss out S&G, here are some of Marie’s favourite products totes worth checking out:
- Flake Away Spa Body Polish AUD$17.95 – A body scrub that can be used everyday.
- Sexy Mother Pucker AUD$21.95 – A lip gloss that punches your lips swollen.
- Calm One, Calm All Bubble Bath AUD$14.95 – This one doesn’t dry your body out with its build in moisturising effect.
- Heel Genius Foot Cream AUD$14.95 – Doubles as a foot mask, just pop on a thick layer and socks before bed and marvel at the softness of your feet.
- Glad Hair Day Shampoo & Conditioner AUD$13.95 each – Who can say no to fruity scented haircare? It’s my weakness too!
Soap & Glory is available in KIT CosmeticsĀ nationwide.
