Many moons ago, Dolls at the Mount was my go-to place for scones, tea and girly catch up with my best friend. More than two years ago she left the country for good for the next chapter of her life and subsequently I haven’t been going back to Dolls at the Mount regularly like how we used to. Simply put, it isn’t the same without bestie doing scones and tea. Fast forward 12 months ago, one of the ladies behind Dolls at the Mount retired and the business took a break for 12 months.
Two weeks ago, they reopened still staying within Heidelberg as Jam & Cream. That weekend itself, we drove for an hour for their infamous high tea, the familiarity of their scone, their tea blend and of course the lovely ladies behind the business.
Ah, how I have missed the roly poly sandwiches and freshly make to order scones. Best scones I have tasted in my life, hands down. There are more scone options for both savoury and sweet. You can never go wrong with their classic scones, oh how I’ve missed their jam.
Quiche and sausage rolls, all home made.
Chocolate vs Classic scones. Love their nanna sponge cake. Yes, I am bias but they do make the best sponge cakes ever.
They also have a pink caravan built for tea parties. What say you MBBE ladies? Next catch up here?
Jam & Cream is open everyday except for Mondays. Be sure to call and book a table. While we were there first week of opening it was full house on a Sunday afternoon.
