In 2012, Chanel showcased the Blue Illusion de Chanel collection in their Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Inspire by air, azure blue sky, inky nights, clear lagoons and travel, the new collection is all about different shades of blue.
Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, borrows the intangible hues of summer blue. Like a cloud-strewn sky, eyes take up shimmering reflections that change with the light. The juvenile grace of an almost nude face showcases eyes with marine depths, mellowed by the radiance of blue tones.
Peter wanted the simple kohl eye look for the Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012 show, hence instead of black kohl, he created ‘blue khol’ – Le Crayon Yeux ‘Bleu Aérien’ (as pictured above, RRP AUD$44). In addition, two new ‘Illusion d’Ombre ‘ shades are introduced in this new collection.
Illusion d’Ombre – #Apparition & #Destination (RRP AUD$48 each)
For the nails lover, there’s a pale pearl blue shade called Le Vernis ‘Sky Line’ (slightly metallic, RRP AUD$39 ). A tender pink blush Joues Contraste 68 Rose Ecrin (RRP AUD$71) for the blush lovers. Be sure to check out the rest of the collection when it hits counter, as there are new lipstick shades, new gloss, crayon khol and waterproof mascara.
