A while ago, I read a review on Paris B’s blog about the Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush. After doing some research, oh my 4.6 out of 5 on MakeupAlley (everyone seems to be praising this) and consulting Shizuka (who used to work for Shiseido) I decided that I needed this brush in my life.
Long story short, I have been using this brush for about one month now and I love it.
You see, when it comes to make up brushes you won’t be able to tell how it will truly work until you’ve tried it on your face and most often than not, you can’t do that at makeup counter without having germs and bacteria coverings your face. Once I received this baby, I had to give it thorough wash and dry to ensure the brush is completely face friendly before my first use. Can you imagine my agony and frustration to not being able to use this?
This brush recommends against using water resistant foundation with it and this got me thinking isn’t most of the foundation these days water resistant of some sort? Knowing me, I blatantly ignored that one rule and went ahead trialing this with cream, liquid, BB cream and powder compact foundations from various brands. Turns out I can’t fault this brush at all and if I were to pick, this works best with cream/compact foundation & BB cream. I even tossed out my faithful sponges. It is true when they say this brush blends foundation seamlessly, better than sponge, flat foundation brush, finger application and stippling brush in my opinion. The finish is smooth, perfect and natural without compromising any coverage.
Surprisingly the full size Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush comes in your standard travel size, I have no issues using this to blend/buff away with the shorter handle. I suppose this makes it great to pack in make up bags and while travelling. This brush is made in Japan with its unique dense angled bristles, it delivers a uniform coverage and feels so soft on the skin. I use this on a downward and outward motion to sweep and blend foundation onto my skin. Currently I am still using this every day and is absolutely obsessed, definitely a HG worthy foundation brush in my book.
Side note: I’ve also washed this brush twice and have not seen any bristle fall out or anything like that. LOVE IT. Totally worth the price I’d say. Run and buy it now!
