“Beauty Queen’s Makeup Secret” – Rachel K Mineral CC Cream
Remember my post about CC cream? They are very real and they are already widely available in a few of the Asian market. From what I know, one of the currently most famous CC cream available in the market is Rachel K’s (ex beauty queen) mineral CC cream. The reason why it is popular is because it is mineral based and is endorsed by beauty queens and contestants around the world (see link below). In Singapore, it is available in Watsons (Watsons is like your Priceline in Australia) and comes in two shades. I went for the popular original shade.
Rachel K Mineral Color Control cream boosts 10 in 1 functionality and is mineral based, here are the 10 functionalities:
- EGF: Epidermal Growth Factor*
- Sun protection SPF 35 PA++
- Moisturising
- Whitening
- Nourishing
- Anti Wrinkle
- Collagen enriched
- Non Comedogenic
- Smudge proof
- Water proof
This CC cream comes in a simple matte tube packaging which I have no issues with. On first look the CC cream has a pinkish tint (see swatch above) but once blended (on right) you’ll see residues of CC cream because it is encouraged to pat onto skin and wait 2-3 minutes for it to dissolve onto skin. True to its description, once I’ve pat through the CC cream all over my face it looks uneven and blotchy but after 2 minutes for some reason it blends into skin seamlessly. The finish is matte and weightless, I don’t need powder over my skin with this and I have oily combination skin.
Texture wise, it is not quite your liquid foundation and not quite your BB cream thick creamy texture. I’d say this sits in between your BB cream and liquid foundation with a weightless, truly weightless feel on skin. I don’t think I have experienced any foundation/BB cream on my skin that feels this lightweight ever. So this is a big bonus for me. Coverage wise, I’ll call this sheer to slightly medium coverage so be sure to conceal areas in skin that requires concealing before applying this CC cream.
Overall, I love this CC cream for being so lightweight, the colour match quite seamlessly to my skin colour, it is moisturising and the CC cream doesn’t show signs of fading even after a full day’s wear. Pretty good oil control and stays matte all day long. Definitely recommend this for those who don’t have much skin issues that needs to be conceal as this CC cream lacks in the coverage department. However, due to it being mineral based I can see how it is suitable for heaps of different skin type including those who have reactive skin and requires something natural.
*EGF has been quite the popular skincare ingredient in the 2012 beauty market and there’s numerous skincare company popping out with their EGF serums, this is the first I’ve seen in a make up product.
RRP SG$29.90 (approximately AUD$23.30)

Hi there, I was wondering whether the pink tube or black tube is better for nc25-nc30 skin tones?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Juliana, the black tube is lighter than the pink. This black tube suits me perfectly and is good for NC20-25 and the pink tube I think is better for NC30 onwards I think. I haven’t try the pink tube so I can’t vouch it for sure.
