shu uemura recently introduced a new way to skincare, utilising the perfect trio for perfect skin. The three key essentials skincare products is the Skin Purifier (to purify), the Tsuya Skin Youthful Radiance Generator (to re-activate skin) and the the Tsuya Skin UV Under Base (to protect & optimize). Tsuya skin is the latest products launch for shu uemura and they are already selling like hot cakes in South East Asia especially Japan. The idea behind the Tsuya skin line is to reactivate skin’s youth power switch by delivering results like porcelain-fine, petal-soft and translucent glowing skin.

Step one: Purify – shu uemura ultime8 supreme cleansing oil 

It is no secret when it comes to skincare shu uemura is notorious for their cleansing oil aka skin purifier. They come in different formulas for different skin types and I am currently obsessed with their latest – Ultime8 Supreme Cleansing Oil (as pictured above). I have also personally tried every other skin purifier that shu uemura carries throughout the years as my skin change as I age (cringe). I do have fond feelings for the whitefficient brightening cleansing oil (yes whitening again, yes).

People often think that cleansing oil is just a trend and it will come and go but do not underestimate the power of cleansing your skin with oil. Simply because most often than not, only cleansing oil can truly ‘melt’ away all the skincare and make up filled with high technologies that we pile on everyday. Almost all make up comes with waterproof, sweatproof, silicone and god knows what fine particles these days.

If you are a regular cleanser double as make up removal user, I dare you to use cleansing oil to cleanse your skin and you’ll never feel the same again. This is because cleansing oil is able to melt and emulsify dirt, bacteria and make up all in one go for skin to be able to breathe again.

I’ll let you in on a secret, for the days that I truly can’t be bothered and is lazy, I’ll just use shu uemura skin purifier as a one step make up removal and skip the double cleansing because it is that good and efficient. Most importantly, it also cleanses my skin without leaving any oily/greasy residue and my skin never feel dry and tight after cleansing with this.

Step 2: Re-Activate shu uemura Tsuya Skin Youthful Radiance Generator 

This is the key hero product from Tsuya skin and it is a serum to be used before your regular moisturiser both day and night. Before we talk more about the product in itself, tsuya means overflowing youthful radiance from within and is a Japanese word. Believing in bringing out woman’s natural beauty, this new generation serum helps to strengthen and promote healthy inner  skin structure so you can glow from within.

Texture wise this serum is milky/watery and is very refreshing on skin without any sticky residue. I have been using this for weeks and the most noticeable difference for me was the overall skin looks more uniform, brighter and softer to touch. I recommend this for those who are suffering from dullness, dehydration and pigmentation issues. This finishes off matte-ish with a cooling sensation so I think its appropriate for those with oily skin too.

Step 3: Protect & Optimize – Tsuya skin UV Under BAse Youthful Radiance Mousse 

From shu uemura’s make up products,  UV under base mousse would be their best selling make up product. They always come with high SPF protection, comes in a cooling and refreshing mousse texture and absorbs into skin prepping it for make up application perfectly. As you can see in the picture above, half a pump is all you need for a full face coverage and half a pump is way too much product for a swatch at the back of my hand.

Once absorbed, the unique mousse to cream formula leaves a thin veil of radiance making skin look soft, supple and glowing. In addition, because it is slightly tinted I can even use just this on the weekends on my skin and skip the foundation step.

Application tip: I have been told by the SA at Shu Uemura to apply the mousse with a make up sponge for even application and for blending purposes. It is also best to dispense the mousse at the back of your hand and dip appropriate portion and blend onto skin with a make up sponge.
