Back in May 2012 whilst travelling, everywhere I went I could see ads for Lunasol’s Spring 2012 makeup collection and this palette was also the same palette that was plastered all over the ads. It was just release in the market then and was one of 3 shades to choose from (01 Sweet Peach, 02 Clear Pink & 03 Soft Beige). This was my pick because it wasn’t the usual brown/beige shades.
It is no secret that I love Lunasol make up specifically their base foundation products. For those of you won’t don’t know this, Lunasol is a popular prestige Japanese make up brand.
Love the slim, sleek and easy to open packaging.
Lunasol Petal Pure Eyes #02 Clear Pink, I found out later this exact same palette won Cosme award for the eyeshadow category for the first half of 2012. Patted myself in the back for picking the good one out of the three shades.
This four colour eye shadow palette is designed to achieve a crystal clear finish like the pure colors of Momoka (sweet rose). True to its name, the shades are sheer like most Japanese eye make up do which isn’t an issue for me, if you like more of a pigmented eyeshadow finish then I’ll say this is not the palette for you. Since I have to apply liquid eyeliner on a daily basis, I often look for eyeshadows that are softer to balance out the harshness of the liquid liner otherwise I will look too done up for a daily look.
In the swatch you can see all the shades are complimentary to my yellow based skin tone. The pink and brown shades are good as a base and the darker blue/grey shade has a hint or dark purple to it. Overall, I find this palette easy to blend with my own eyeshadow brushes and I have no issue in lining my lids with them. I love how this palette is buildable and stays on without flaking throughout the day. One thing though it is quite pricey but I guess for its quality it is worth it.
Here’s a detailed how-to from Lunasol’s website teaching you how to apply the quad eyeshadow:
- Blend A (Highlight Color) on the entire eyelid using a fingertip.
- Blend C (Medium Color) from the lash line toward the entire eyelid crease.
- Apply D (Shade Color) along the upper lash line as you draw a line.
- Apply B (Petal Color) lightly over the entire eyelid crease using a brush.
- Apply A (Highlight Color) under the eye (two-thirds of the way from the inner corner) and D (Shade Color) under the eye (one-third of the way from the outer corner).
5,000 yen / approximately AUD$62

Those colours are great for daily i think.
Not too much and yet soft natural. Love it!
Yes and since I wear eyeliner regardless so this complements them really well!
