Few weeks ago, whilst I was in Sydney for a quick day trip I made a side trip to Signature Day Spa Wellness Centre at 77 Parramatta Rd, Camperdown.
Nestled in a busy main road, the moment I stepped into the spa, I was welcomed by a cleansing waterfall feature which washes and leaves the memory of a buzzing main road behind me.
The day spa is housed in a industrial warehouse space transformed into a very calming and relaxed space filled with antiques collected over the years by owner John Crotti. Heaps of the original structure of the warehouse space was also kept in its originality to maintain a cozy and welcoming space.
The concept spa also has an in house nutritionist, Kylie McCarthy who is based at the spa who also works alongside Dr Sandra Cabot. Kylie helps to guide guests to a deeper understanding of their bodies so one can be treated both inside and outside of the body.
The day spa fills three levels of the building and there is even a lift to reach each floor. I was first offered a glass of water and a cleansing foot bath to thoroughly relax before heading to my treatment room.
The change room was clean, simple and has every amenities imaginable – steam room, shower, bath robes, towels, floor mats, combs, disposable shower cap, disposable underwear, hair spray to name a few. The lockers helps to keep things away without worrying about belongings whilst getting treatment done.
Excuse me while I #selfie.
Picture is obviously not me in it
My treatment for the day was Flotation (1 hour and 30 mins), reason why I chose this is because it is unique and different from the usual treatments spa provides. The whole treatment involves a full body scrub down with an energising salt mix with tropical fruity extracts like mango and passionfruit. This was all done while I lay on a warm water bed that provides a floating experience.
Next, I headed to the adjoined shower for a quick rinse down and finish off with a yoghurt body wrap and infra red – thermotherapy is switched on for the ultimate relaxation. Whilst this was on, I also had hand and foot massage to complete the entire experience.
In the end, I almost dozed off as the whole experience was warm and cozy as I was tucked in and the warm water bed kept my entire body warm even though I was practically almost fully naked apart from the disposable underwear I was wearing.
All in all, Signature Day Spa Wellness Centre has 8 themed couples room ranging from Rainstorm Vichy Shower, Geisha room, Flotation, Thermal Magnesium Spa to Moroccan Hamam. There’s also a boardroom space where they cater to work meetings, fun day to spend pampering with clients or even transforming the space into a group Hen’s night pampering session.
Overall, I love the whole down-to-earth atmosphere at Signature Day Spa Wellness Centre. It doesn’t feel overtly posh and I felt really welcomed and relaxed the whole time I was there. I didn’t feel rushed and there are plenty of seats to relax and take your time to get in and out of the spa.
We definitely need a spa like so in Melbourne that is uniquely an unforgettable experience with its wide range of treatment offering. Perfect even for Friday night relaxation with your partner to unwind and relax in the couple’s room.
