It’s been awhile since I’ve last tested or used any MAC make up products. It’s always intimidating (Yes! Even for a beauty blogger) to go into the counter with so many products, choices and variety to choose from.
So late last year, I was invited to the stand alone MAC store in Eastland to trial out some products and get to rekindle my passion of experimenting with makeup products again. I know I’ve been slacking on the make up front lately.
After a proper consultation of what I like and what I didn’t like (so important you guys, always talk to SA about your preferences!); I was introduced to a concealer I’ve not used before the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in #NC25. This pump bottle concealer is amazing at concealing redness and uneven skin tone. It’s liquid form makes it easy to blend and is super long lasting too.
I apply this everyday under my foundation routine to conceal everything acne scar, redness, eye bags to pigmentation and find that I actually need a lot less foundation to go over my skin after.
Back tracking a little, to start before any make up step, I prep my skin with MAC Prep & Prime Skin Base Visage. Everyone knows a good primer is key to make up that last. Also great for oil controlling and keeping skin hydrated. MAC Prep & Prime Skin Base Visage has a slight sheen and pearlescent finish to it and helps to brighten and even out skin with minimal effort required.
It is no secret that MAC does some pretty good primer, so be sure to check out their range as there’s one to suit everybody and best of all they don’t break me out and I have acne-prone skin (yes, even in my 30s).
I have been a little obsessed with cream blushes all of 2015, so I thought I’d check out the MAC Cremeblend Blush in #So Sweet, So Easy but to my disappointment, it wasn’t as pigmented as I’d hope it’d be and for some reason the colour doesn’t sit well on my skin tone.
Having said that, I absolutely loved the MAC Huggable Glass in #Love Buzz. This compact sized hot pink gloss goes onto lips like a dream, easy to apply and stays on pretty well. It keeps lips well hydrated and feels quite lightweight. All in all the gloss and concealer are highlights from me and all I can say is, it’s definitely worth exploring make up brands you’ve never touched or haven’t in a long time. You’ll be surprise what you’ll come across with.
