Come stalk me!
#1 – I have never finished an eye shadow let alone eye shadow palette in my life.
#2 – I respond to people who call me ponikuta.
#3 – My weakness is napping with make up on (trying to at least facial wipe my face for naps now).
#4 – I line up my “skincare routine of choice” at night for tomorrow morning to save time. Sometimes I do this for make up too.
#5 – I still don’t have a set ‘system’ for my beauty products, you’d think I have that down pat after almost 8 years of blogging.
#6 – I have a bad habit of stocking up beauty products I love and never end up getting around to it. I now have a suitcase full of ‘back ups’.
#7 – I hate washing my make up brushes, who doesn’t?
#8 – When my close friends goes on a holiday instead of bring souvenirs for me, they come back with beauty products (even from a guy).
#9 – I am not afraid to try any beauty procedure. Keyword: ANY. That does not necessarily mean I want to do all of it.
#10 – I store some of my beauty products in the fridge which annoys le garcon to no end.
#11 – I will never appear without nail polish on, everyday, all year round.
#12 – No matter what I do, I get ingrowns from shavings, epilating, plucking, waxing, anything.
#13 – When I was a little girl, I always dreamt to have ps to correct my flaws. Fast forward to an adult pushing towards her 30s in a couple of years, I am still dreaming of that day to come. PS!
#14 – Just because I am a beauty blogger, that doesn’t make me any better at applying makeup especially on others. I’m sorry I have to say no.
#15 – I am hopeless in styling my own hair, I leave it to the experts.
#16 – Unlike many others, I am not a hoarder. I tend to gift away many beauty products regularly and sometimes regret at doing so because I miss those items.
Last year, I talked about 2010 highlights and begun my 2011′s draft back earlier in December and for some reason it got a lot harder to work on this post. This was mainly because I did majorly took a back seat with my blog throughout 2011. To be absolutely honest with you, in 2011 I took a big leap in faith in growing #MBBE and focused with my career as I was just promoted back in Dec 2010 and wanted to put in 150% effort in it with the new year.
As a result, my blog suffered somewhat and this was a decision I made and knew that something had to give.
2011, I declined a lot of offers on opportunities to grow my blog.
2011, I de-prioritise my blog and my consistency. Something I had to sacrifice.
2011, my blog went through a face lift which subsequently also made me lost hundreds of posts, lost my rankings, lost pictures from posts, lost my mind. (To date, these are still yet to be recovered)
2011, I survived by accomplishing heaps in terms of my career – a pay rise, winning Employee of the Year and also a Young Achiever’s Award.
2011, we persevered a record house moving in just 3 days.
2011, I learnt something – we can’t have everything.Â
2012, be kind to me.
This is totally random, so here goes:
- I always use a base coat when it comes to nail polish but I almost never use a top coat.
- I style my hair less than twice a month.
- I am always reading, researching and dreaming about having plastic surgeries done to my face.
- I never use room temperature facial cloth masks.
- I have a love hate relationship with clay masks, I will only use them as a spot treatment and never the full face.
Upon returning from such a long holiday, I foresee a busy couple of days ahead and possibly no posting for a week or so until I unpack my luggages, sign off all the piling parcels that was sent during the holidays and patiently await my extra luggage that I had to send back in advance via DHL; normal blogging activities shall resume then.
Not to mention I should have an exploding inbox awaiting for me both for work and for my blog once I return. I am so not looking forward to those.
Til then,
V xx
Dear readers,
I’m off to shopping town for a month. There will definitely be alot of shopping, eating and harmless gambling (it’s Chinese New Year afterall!). Did I mention how much I hate packing? Oh gosh, I’m sure I have over packed and have not one not two but five makeup bags worth of beauty products covering from head to toe. I’m also stressed about what to bring back in terms of clothes as there will be island trips, city wandering, reunions, heaps of catch up with old friends and the need to look good and impress. I felt like bringing the entire wardrobe with me. Crazy I know!
That being said, I’ll be back come March and will be responding to comments, emails and tweeting.
Au revior mon ami!
