Practice: Zen Habits

If you follow me on twitter, you’ll probably seen my retweets about Zen Habits posts. I have been addicted to their simple yet fantastic ideas about embracing life as it is without all the other outer elements/distractions.

Today’s post is about Love Life, Not Stuff.

I used to be quite a shopaholic, was obsessed with getting my shopping kick, splurging on unnecessary things & collecting weird array of knick knacks. I have obviously cut those bad habit down for a couple of years now mainly because I no longer have not one but two credit cards to swipe and have them bill to my parents in another country.

Yes, I have made the choice to make it on my own since graduating from Uni instead of making my parents foot ‘everything’ and all my expenses. They have after all taken really good care of me for the past 20 odd years.

Here are a few tips I’d like to share from Zen Habit’s latest post:

  1. Declutter
  2. Lust life not things
  3. Rediscover a passion for life. (For me it is time back to piano)
  4. Breathe in life
  5. Give experiences as gifts (Teaching le garçon to cook more)
  6. Connect with others in real life (Gitoffyacomputernaw)
  7. Deal with your emotions/problem
  8. Disconnect attachment to stuff
  9. Realise that life, not stuff that matters

and here we welcome Onya Magazine

Onya Magazine
was launched on 1st of June 2009 mainly focusing topics on and about Australia. Miss Sandi (who is the brainchild behind Onya Magazine) was kind enough to invite me to the launch at Mag Nation and guess who I brought along?

If you haven’t already visited Onya the online magazine, go on board and read about all the intelligent hot discussions. Coincidently, their main colour is orange too, my favorite!

Makeup Muse: Greta Garbo

I am obsessed with Greta Garbo‘s perfect face at the moment. While I know her pencil thin eyebrow would look horrendous on me; the eyebrow looked perfect on her for some reason. Her beautifully painted lips and her eye makeup is effortlessly tres gorgeous. Not to mention her hairstyle and makeup always look so flawlessly put-together.

Thick, lush lashes. Ah, one can only dream of.

Seductive glare.

Perfectly lined eyes, lush lashes & soft lips.

Notice the thicker brow? She look instantly timeless and less angry.

I’m actually loving her hair right here.

And this hairstyle too.

Did you know that I secretly dream of having thinner lips much like hers?

Can’t stop staring at those lips.

Back to the hair and death stare.

Flawless

Another timeless chic.

Aging beautifully.
