Exciting News: We are featured in a book!

While it is no big publication or anything like that; nevertheless we are tres excited that we were interviewed and featured in Fabulous: All About 50+ Top Beauty Bloggers of 2010 by Nicki Zevola.

The selection process includes using Konector, HLMN, Google PageRank, Alexa, Webesiteoutlook, etc. We were lined up with the likes of Makeup Bag, Temptalia, Bella Sugar and many more, such a great honor.

Great news for a great year ahead. We have a few more exciting news in the pipeline. Watch this space!

Chanel: Melbourne Only Limited Edition Jumbo Classic 2.55 in Gold

We have all heard about Chadstone’s luxury wing and I’ve read somewhere in the news that there will be a “Melbourne Only” limited edition bag designed exclusively by Karl Lagerfeld himself. I had to admit they had me at “limited edition”.

It wasn’t until I saw this gorgeous quilted lambskin bag (in picture) on Vogue December many weeks ago; that I actually fell in love with it and knew I had to have it.

You won’t believe the amount of time I spent on phone coaxing Chanel staffers for the actual details, waiting list, store details, etc. Suffice to say, the staffs at Chanel boutique (Collins St) were useless and unfriendly!

This beige gold (duo colour effect – silvery in day light and gold in night light) super luxurious lambskin classic 2.55 is absolutely gorgeous. It also has the Paris Venice Lion around the double C signature logo instead of the usual interlock C logo.

There’s also a plaque inside the bag that says “Melbourne Limited’. How awesome is that?

Only 100 pieces are available worldwide and can only be purchased in Chanel boutique, Chadstone Melbourne.

P/S: Yes, it did smell like lamb! Loves it.

Our cake from earlier this week

Flourless Chocolate Souffle Cake (chocolate sponge, chocolate cream, chocolate flakes, white chocolate film, milk chocolate flower & cocoa dusting) from Brunetti’s.
Can someone say chocolate overdose?
It was definitely no Adriano Zumbo but this will do for now.

Vintage

I have this little dress hang in my room to remind me of my roots and my childhood. This was the dress that I used to wear some 23 years ago. Amazingly preserved. Here’s one on a closeup. See the lace at the bottom and this is prove I have always been a pink girl! Cute no? One day my girl shall wear this too.

Valentine’s by the harbour

Sounds really romantic but in reality it was windy, cold, and relatively quiet on a weekend night. Our 2 hour dining experience turned into 3 hours. From the pictures you can tell it was turning dark.

Number One Special = crab salad with avocado wrapped in snapper and baked. To be fair I think Sydney’s Kobe Jones does a better version of this. I was a little disappointed with this one.

Kobe Jone’s Flavor Sixophony
= Seafood poke which is a sashimi cubes marinated in poke sauce comes in a shotglass (YUM!), Anago Scallop which were made up on tempura hokkaido scallop stuffed with crab salad & asparagus drizzled with anago sauce, King Crab Gyoza (which was the bomb!)…

Kobe Rolls which consist of Lollipop Sushi (Kobe’s signature sushi with tuna, snapper, salmon, crab salad, asparagus and smelt roe wrapped in thinly peeled cucumber), Caterpillar Roll (unagi, crab salad, cucumber with avocado) and Alaskan Crab sushi.

The view

Ah, my favorite Lychee Mi. (the one with the strawberry)

Sizzled Carpaccio Salmon. Its kind of like salmon sashimi 30% seared and drizzle with wasabi dressing. Loved it.

This Miso Citrus Lobster Tail has to be the highlight of the night. Me and Le garçon were thoroughly impressed with this grilled green lobster tail dish. It was so huge and chuncky. And oh my lord, the bowl of steamed vegetable and wafu thermidor sauce is the craziest creamy sauce I have ever tried. For once le garçon loved it too for he never opt for anything that are creamy.

Vodka & Lemon Sorbet to cleanse the pallette.

Tajima Wagyu served on a hot rock. Tasty, chucky and so delicious on its own.

Our desert came with these huge sticks of dark chocolate, Green Tea Creme Brulee, Cheese Cakes, Berry Moouse, Macaroon, pieces of Dragonfruit and another piece of Green Tea cake.

Needless to say, we will definitely be back for the Alaskan crabs, lobsters and sushis. I strongly recommend their signature dishes, tajima wagyu, their rolls and sashimis. They are so worth it.
The thing I like about Kobe Jones is that their food are not fusion (which I hate!); I like them plain Japanese as its finest.

Here’s a link to their website.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

What’s Valentine without a little chocolate involve? I made up some Cinnamon spiced self-saucing chocolate pudding. Gooey on the inside and crunchy on the top. Messy, but oh so worth it.

I wish everyone gets what they hope/wish for and genuinely have a great time today. As for us, we were having a great week altogether. Belle got a little something for today as well. We had a scrumptious dinner last night celebrating Valentine’s in advance. Needless to say, sashimi cocktail, lobsters, king crabs, scallops, wagyu beef were in order. That of course is another post save for another day.

From the both of us,
xoxo

Valentine’s Day came early

Le garçon said V day is overrated. Hence, he decided to surprise me by doing things his way. He has been extra nice to me. Cleaning and tidying the place. Buying me all my favorite food to satisfy my cravings. Brought me a pair of sexy killer heels today. Booked a surprise dinner this Friday. He even suggested me to buy makeup. What more can I ask?

Ferrero in dark chocolate. Heavenly.

Le garçon hand peeled all these fresh pomegranate for me.

You can never get too much antioxidant!
