Some of you who follow me on twitter might notice that I’d tweet #positvethinking tweets once in a while, particularly when I feel that I am running on low positivity to remind myself to stay positive regardless of the time of the day and the situation.
This week, for some reason I have been surrounded with heaps of positivity, whether if it was in the form of blog posts, tweets or just from the people I met and the people I am with. I am really grateful these messages stood out for me and really made me realise there is no point to keep dwelling on failures and negativity.
I thought I’d share with you this week’s highlights:
- Sandi, founder of Onya Magazine wrote a few things she’d learned, reading through her list put a huge grin on my face. She continues to inspire me to do the things that I love regardless of experience, age and against all odds.
- Yazzie aka PRIMPED boss started a blog about Happiness & Positivity. Bless that chicka, she also spills about her beauty favourites. Go follow her blog if you haven’t already.
- One of my all time favourite “positive” site – Zen Habit, recently published an article about Travelling Lightly Through Life. This article actually activated an alarm ring in me, I am guilty of having moved in May and almost half a year later, I have yet to go through unpacking 30% of the boxes I’ve came with. Moving fail!
- I recently came across Tom Hinton’s blog through a friend and found this article about finding purpose in life particularly refreshing. We’ve always been told to do what we want, do what the society defines as success but Tom reminded me to find my purpose in life for my own satisfaction not my purpose for the society or for others satisfaction.
- A phone conversation with Lien from Brows & Makeup, she reminded me that each person only needs one eyeshadow palette/lipstick/lipgloss of the same colour tone. Too much of everything is just a waste of money. She also inspired me to count my blessing and be grateful for what I have and not waste time on being low/unhappy about what I can’t control of.
So what has inspired you recently?
Care to share?
I have been dropping hints on twitter mentioning that my blog is going to expand for some time now. You see like every other girl I certainly enjoy skincare/makeup and shoes, particularly high heels. After much consideration, I’ve decided to incorporate a weekly section for high heels in my blog from next week onwards.
Shoes like beauty products need to be trial and tested before making a purchase. As a female, I have traveled down the road of purchasing something only to find that it doesn’t fit/is not comfortable/does not look like the real product online. I am sure you have experience something similar surely whether if it is a piece of garment that looks hot on magazine or a jar of facial cream that everyone swears by.
I will not pressure you into anything like that, I will be showcasing shoes that are available in Australia, something you can have a look and is readily available in the shop by the time I publish my weekly showcase; nothing far fetched, nothing unwearable *cough* runway and nothing that is unattainable.
I sincerely hope you’ll like this exciting new section I have been working on and I’d appreciate any feedback that you may have (obviously only the positive ones, just kidding).
So look out for the first installment next week ladies.
P/S: Since Mel has been doing such a great job with guest reviewing and is always so willing and lovely to be the guinea pig to try out products, I’ve decided to have her as a permanent fixture on Ponikuta.com at least for the next couple of months. Do stay tune for her guest reviews to come and please make her feel welcome y’all.
Exciting times,
Val xx
