Tony Moly Petit Bunny Gloss Bar #03 & #05

tony moly petit gloss

More cute beauty products from Taipei, I can’t wait to go back to shop & eat all day! I found these Tony Moly Petit Bunny Gloss Bars (I believe these are from Korea) at 86 shop. I have to admit these adorable packaging caught my eye in a shop FULL of amazing Asian beauty products. How can you resist such cute bunny gloss bars?

There are a total of 6 shades to choose from. These gloss bars are super moisturising and quite sheer on lips. I got #05 – Peach (top) and #03 – Apple (bottom) to trial since they were so affordable. True to their name, #03 does smell like apples and #05 is sweet like peaches.

Left swatch: #03 | Right swatch: #05

As you can see, the shine that reflects in the above swatch picture shows how glossy and moisturising these bars are. I quite like #03 as it shows a rosy sheen on my lips while the #05 appears to be quite invisible on my lips. I love using these throughout the day to touch up on because these are easy to reapply and is extremely low maintenance. Best of all, it keeps my lips moisturise throughout the day!

Approximately RRP AUD$5 each

Available in 86 shop in Taipei or $12 from Yes Style

A trip to Jurlique Mylor Farm

Last week, I was fortunate enough to be invited by Jurlique to their never been-opened-to-public Mylor farm in Adelaide Hills to witness the glorious 155 acres of herbs and flowers grown here locally and harvest for production of beauty product ingredients for Jurlique.

We started off our day by flying to Adelaide from Melbourne. Once landed we were whisked to Burnside Village for The Spa Experience. For those of you who are unaware, Jurlique offers both facials and body treatments. I was treated to a Ultimate Signature Facial (90 minutes) that incorporates a professional grade peel to rid all the dullness of my skin and the congestions.

I highly recommend this treatment for those who are suffering from congestions (mine went away immediately with the peel!). The facial also incorporated neck and shoulder massage, let’s just say I didn’t want to leave the room when the facial came to an end. Definitely a treat I will start pampering myself after travelling and when my skin requires some SOS in the future.

After the facial, I was also treated to a hand scrub + massage trialling different types of scents and sensory oil blends. Did you know you can even mix different scented body care to create your own signature scent? I went for a blend between roses and citrus, refreshingly good!

Jurlique Mylor Farm

A quick pit stop for lunch at The Lane Vineyard later, we begin the farm tour at Jurlique Mylor Farm with Marc Intervera – Horticultural Specialist at Jurlique. I have to say this experience was such an eye opening journey for me as a beauty blogger aka beauty obsessed individual. We often slap products on our face but we don’t often think about where, how and what the ingredients are from.

Having witnessing how the farm is maintained (biodynamically), sourced from the most precious soil and top quality grade seeding; it is safe to say the herbs and flowers produced from this farm is nothing short of spectacular. Mylor farm grows and harvests all the herbs and flowers ingredients (not fragrances) used in all Jurlique products worldwide, yes all in Adelaide Hills humbly and processed locally.

In addition, this farm is certified organic/biodynamic and employs 16 full time employees and additional contractors during peak season. The farm combines traditional biodynamic and modern organic production methods with a state of the art irrigation system to create an efficient, productive and sustainable farm. Jurlique’s mission statement is to produce the purest most effective skin care through nature, science and innovation.

Calendula crops

In total there are 29 species cultivated on the farm including Chamomile, Calendula, Roses, Rosemary, Echinacea, Marshmallow and Spilanthes. There are also tree crops like Silver Birch and Black Elder that are all very popular key ingredients of a lot of Jurlique’s beauty products.

Chamomile crop

Tri color Violets, Calendula, Roses, Chamomile

These roses are so fragrant and the chamomile oozes soothing chamomile scent. The tiny white flowers at the bottom are elderberries used in the Jurlique brightening range.

My personal top 5 picks Jurlique products:

1) Ultimate Signature Facial – I am a convert! My skin literally glows after the treatment without looking greasy and have oily hair post facial. Win!

2) Skin Balancing Face Oil – For those who have irregular skin issues like overtly dry/oily, you’ll love this. Pour some over cotton pad and massage all over face & neck.

3) Pure Essential Oil – Sensory experience is very important to me and I almost always sleep better when I have essential oil burning.

4) Fruit Enzyme Exfoliator – My all time favourite Jurlique product. This product alone defies all the myth about natural skin care don’t deliver results.

5) Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Gel Mask – Takes out all the redness from skin, highly recommend this for those who have sensitive skin or suffer from redness.

Burberry Make up Haul – Luminous Compact Foundation, Light Glow Natural Blush & Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick

A while back, I did a collective haul and picked up a few Burberry make up products that I have been meaning to trial. A shout out to Jess who helped with the hauling and most of these beauty products were picked up via Harrods.

Burberry Sheer Foundation Luminous Compact Foundation

#No 01 Trench

£34.00

I have noticed that this compact foundation is made in Italy. Package wise, this is sturdy and luxe with a touch of elegance. As for the compact foundation, the print is very pretty in Burberry trademark plaids and it comes with a foundation sponge at the bottom of the compact foundation. For my skin tone, I went for the fail proof shade (the lightest from the collection) and it matches my skin perfectly.

In terms of application, I use the sponge that it comes with when I am not in a hurry. When I am in a hurry, I use a powder brush and swirl all over the palette and buff over my face. I will have to be honest, the compact foundation coverage is sheer. It is not buildable and can also double as a setting powder. If you are big on powdered foundation, consider this as a mattifying solution. It keeps my skin shine free for hours on end.

Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush

#No.05 Blossom Blush

 £29.00

Again, the Burberry Light Glow blushes comes in similar packaging to the eyeshadows and compact foundations. It is easy to open and the blush comes in the same trademark plaids. The slightly slanted brush that comes with Light Glow blushes are super soft and applies really well. Gone are the days when I recommend people to throw out the brushes that comes with palettes. With so many brands upping their game, you can actually use them and they can save so much space as oppose to packing with a full size blush brush.

Light Glow Natural Blush in No.05 Blossom Blush comes with a hint of shimmer that isn’t over the top. Shade wise it is medium sheer to buildable. The texture is silky to touch and applies effortlessly, without the need to over-blending or risking too heavy handed. The blush also has a light fragrance to it and I am happy to report that despite having use this a dozen of times, the pattern has stayed to its form and hasn’t smudge off much yet.

I love my blushes sheer to medium sheer instead of OTT in pigment, this way I can blend and add to my heart’s content especially I have fairer skin tone. Highly recommending Burberry Light Glow Natural Blushes!

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick

#No.30 Primrose Hill Pink

£23.00

Again, I am impressed with the packaging, the lipstick locks itself in place with a magnetic pull. Look at the attention to details in terms of design, and how can you resist not purchasing one? The trademark plaids goes through the entire lipstick bullet and the shade screams versatility, I knew I had to have it.

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick  #No.30 Primrose Hill Pink is a pink-red shade that looks really intense in the bullet but comes off just right. It is medium pigment and goes on lips with a buttery sensation. It doesn’t dry out my lips (which is very important for me) and doesn’t require a lipstick brush for application. It does however has a lipstick scent to it but it doesn’t bother me much. One application lasted me a good couple of hours and the finish is a layer of buttery hint on the lips.

Currently on my beauty wish list Oct 2012

A while back I got two of the YSL Glossy Stains after hearing Shizuka raving about it. I got shade #10 and #15 and is obsessed with these baby ever since. Now I am dying to get more and can’t wait to put an order through.

After trying on this “hybrid” foundation, I knew I have to have. Harrods, why you no my shade?

What did I say about I’m a sucker to beauty prodz packaging? Fingers crossed these are out in Paris as we speak so my beloved courier could haul it back for me.

The moment I saw the promotional pictures of Paul and Joe’s latest make up collection I knew this was made for me. I love unicorns!!!

Tina, when you are reading this, I want you to know how impatient I am about this. Frustratingly impatient!

Clarins Skin Illusion Loose Powder Foundation

For the longest time, I was a liquid foundation type of girl. I only had my eyes locked on liquid foundation because that was all I knew back in the days and some MAC sales assistances shoved it down my throat many moons ago. As I am exposed to more options throughout the years, I have learnt to love cream, gel, powder and mineral types of foundations.

Clarins has done quite a few amazing foundations in the past especially the Skin Illusion liquid foundation, this time around they have released a loose powder version of this foundation and it comes in 6 shades to choose from. For those who wants a matte finish, this mineral loose powder is infused with mineral and plant based ingredients that helps to illuminate skin despite it being a powder foundation.

Packaging - Comes with a retractable in built flat round brush that surprisingly buffs the powder foundation really well. The foundation comes with two compartments a plastic cover to prevent the loose powder to get messy when closed and a plastic sieve to get a proper amount of powder at a time.

So far with these two plastic trays in place, I find them helps to keep everything in place and not messy at all. Packaging wise, this is unique and definitely a well thought out product.

Coverage – Depending on how you apply this, I find the coverage can be sheer to medium and can be full if need be when you buff more in. I use the brush that comes with this powder foundation for application and be sure to prime my skin with a silicone based primer like Dermalogica’s AgeSmart Skinperfect Primer.

This is where the foundation won my heart over, it covers my pigmentation, uneven skin tone and acne scarring perfectly well. It also reduces the look of my pores and controls oil well.

Texture – Quite fine & silky texture that doesn’t feel heavy on skin.

Finish – I love the smooth, matte finish with a hint of radiance. The foundation feels really natural and lightweight on my skin and the shade #109 Wheat matches my skin tone perfectly without making me appearing too pale. Best of all it doesn’t oxidise on my skin or smudge throughout the day. It’s just the way the foundation settles onto my skin that really stood out for me.

Needless to say I am calling this my HG powder foundation!
