Christmas Day 21 – Party Eyes

Rimmel – Union Jack Eyeshadow

RRP AUD$15.95 each

Every palette comes with 4 shades (from light to dark) in a Union Jack design. Love the design and packaging just be extra careful when picking up pigments to not mix the light shades and the dark shades together.

Chanel – Ligne Extreme Eye Liner #307

RRP AUD$45

Party gold liquid liner! You can see the expert – Lisa Eldridge working her magic with it here.

My personal way of doing it is starting my usual black eye liner and finishing the flick with this gold liquid liner.

Chanel – Illusion D’ombre #84 Epatant

(Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow)

RRP AUD$48

This is hands down Chanel’s 2011 best product for eye make up product. Comes in a range of six totally wearable and collectable shades, all Illusion D’Ombre comes with an individual brush that helps keep application clean and free of shadow cross contamination.

This jelly-gel like shadow surprisingly delivers intense shimmery pigment (which I love) and is super long lasting. Definitely double thumbs up and stock them up when you can.

Garnier - Youthful Radiance Anti-Dark Circles Roll-On Concealer

RRP AUD$18.95

Covers under eye dark circles and treats the eye areas (concealer + eye treatment) at the same time.

I have not met a person who have used this and don’t like it. Get on it.

Tom Ford – Eye Color Quad #08 Sahara Haze

RRP AUD$100

This is definitely one of those palettes I am keeping for myself and no amount of begging from a dear friend will let me allow to share with them when they come over to play make up. This unusual eye shadow quad comes with two matte shades (top row) and two shimmery (bottom row) shades. Gives the combination of smooth matte base/shading  shades and shimmery/glittery darker shades for crease and lining up party eyes.

NP Set – Rainbow Eye Palette

RRP AUD$29

Budget friendly palette that comes with 15 shades that are quite universally flattering from nude browns, smokey hues to the brighter playful shades. I use these shadows with my NARS eyeshadow primer and haven’t had any issues, the colours are medium pigment and are long lasting.

Maybelline – EyeStudio Hyper Diamond Eyeshadow Palette

RRP AUD$18.95 each

If you like intense shimmers paired with pigment shadows, these are some of the palettes you don’t want to miss. While I am not a big drug store brand type of girl, I must say Maybelline has eye shadows make up category mastered. They never fail to deliver and won’t cost you an arm and a leg for the quality of the products that release. Texture is always soft, very blendable and packed with pigments.

Clinique – High Impact Mascara

RRP AUD$38

Separates, defines and lengthens minus the clump and annoying flakes. Long wearing and enhances my existing curled lashes without weighing them down. Also one of Clinique’s best selling mascara, definitely worth checking out when you’re at a local counter next.

Xtreme Lashes – Hydrating Gel Patches

RRP AUD$30

Of course with all the late night parties, it is crucial to replenish what’s loss. Xtreme Lashes does some really well fitted Hydrating Gel Patches that keeps the eye area well moistured and to prevent early signs of ageing.

Clarins: Eye Quartet Mineral Palette

Why I love it:

  • New eye shadow palette from the Colour Definition Make-up collection (if you haven’t check out this range, you’ll need to stride to your nearest Clarins counters now)
  • Available in 6 different colour combinations, this eyeshadow palette is by far one of Clarin’s best (TBH, Clarins continues to impress me with their makeup, first their lipsticks, then amazing foundation and now this)
  • Each eye shadow palette comes with four shades that are great to use individually or combined, personally I combine the non shimmery shades (all 3 of them) together for a day look and top up the intensity with the non shimmery shades for night time with an added touch of shimmery, radiant finish
  • The texture of the shadows are soft and smooth, easy to blend and is longwearing (I pair mine with NARS Smudgeproof Eye Primer)
  • These eye shadows can be used both wet and dry (dry is my preferred choice for day and I wet my eye shadow brush on a wet wipe and brush it over the eye shadow palette for a night look)

#07 Smokey Passion

The collection also comes with mascara, liquid eyeliner, compact powder and lipsticks.

RRP AUD$68 each palette

Estee Lauder: Deluxe Pure Color Eye Shadow Palette

Like I promised, this is the review for the Estee Lauder – Deluxe Pure Color Eye Shadow Palette. As amazing as it is, the colors ranges from light to dark. So, if you are not looking for any color in particular to wear, you can just pick one from this brick.

Left row (from top to bottom):

  • 30 Sugar Cube
  • 42 Mint Ice
  • 19 Periwinkle
  • 24 Midnight

Right row (from top to bottom):

  • 39 Vanilla
  • 47 Honey Drop
  • 35 Cinnamon
  • 66 Bronze Cube

Today, I have chosen 42 Mint Ice which is a light shade of shimmery green to try on. It is a fairly light shade of green not too shimmery and not too overpowering. Just a hint of green.

It looks pretty normal indoors as well as under natural light. Doesn’t give you the whole drag queen walking out of the closet look. To achieve this look, I only need to blend in 3 layers.

(P/s: I have a bigger eye so I had to compensate with a thicker eyeliner on the other. Hence, the imbalance liner. But I look normal with my eyes open I swear.)

I skipped foundation, blusher and any lipstick or gloss (the entire face makeup) to balance out the light green shade.

Bronze, Brown and Beautiful

Today is a happy day. It is a happy day because it is shopping day. Shopping day is definitely happy day because shopping = happiness right? Well, I won’t ramble on about my shopping day and what I’ve brought, but there are a few things that are worth mentioning for.

Especially this new one just fresh off the shelves, came out TWO days ago – Bobbi Brown – Sandstorm Shimmer Brick ($80).

It is a bit pricey but I’d say you should not put a price on something that can make you glow, something that can make you look amazingly pretty. Good thing about it, is that it is very versatile.

You can dab the entire palette with a bronzer brush and use it as your normal shimmering bronzer. Alternatively, swipe the individual color you want with a medium eye shadow brush and blend it on your lids. The friendly assistance at the counter even dabbed a little on the middle of the lips for that extra JLO glow. You can also use it as a highlighter. What’s there not to love this handy thang?

She also gave me an entire make up session and persuaded me into buying a handful of other stuff. (More about that later.)

————————————————————————————————-

Next up, some Benefit goodies. They been around for some time and I’d always been a MAC fanatic and I guess make up is all about having fun and I am ready to loosen up my range and give everything else a go.

My eye contouring set was running low and I thought it is time to replenish my collection with something new. Benefit’s Big Beautiful Eyes is great for everyone, even beginners. It comes with concealer, base, shadow and liner. All in one pretty and handy case. Define, contour and enhance all in one. I like.

Doesn’t make much sense why would I buy two bronzer/highlighter kit in a day. Well, I guess a girl can’t live with just one lipstick, same theory applies for everything else. I love that comes with multi purpose features. Anything pretty in a nice palate, multi purpose and I am sold.

Benefit’s 10 fits exactly into that category.

Bronzer and highlighter in one sweep. Glow, sleek, sculpted cheekbones all in one go. This one comes with a sanity pink and bronze powder that do wonders for the face.
