Estee Lauder: Resilience Lift Night Firming/Sculpting Face & Neck Cream and Eye Creme

Why I love it:Ā

  • Designed to fight dullness, dehydration & skin sagging
  • These cream are designed for 24-hour lifting and restoring skin’s glow
  • Star ingredients: Photo-Activated Lift Complex, Nocturnal Lift Complex
  • I have been trialling their Eye Cream and Face/Neck Night cream and here are my thoughts:
  • Eye Cream: This white creamy textured cream is quite rich when you dig it out of the pot, but once gently pat under the eye, it absorbed quickly and provides an illusion of brighter under eye area. I use this day and night pre and post my laser treatments and have no issues with it. Additionally, the cream did not break me out and concealers stayed put all day long without creasing into fine lines. I did not see a massive different with the Eye Cream and only time will tell by the time I turn 35, will I have youthful eye bags?
  • Face/Neck Night Cream: This night use only cream has cooling gel (water) base. It is refreshing to apply especially post laser and it helps to keep my skin well hydrated. Due to its nourishing formula that helps to boost natural collagen production, I find that my lines (around the neck area) looks less visible whenever I use this product at night. It also contains luminising ingredients to help problem area look less visible and a smoother appearance. Overnight, I love waking up to plump and supple skin, fine lines around my neck definitely looked alot less visible (unfortunately they are still there and nothing but fillers will solve this).
  • Overall, Face/Neck Night Cream is a winner for me as the refreshing cooling sensation is a bonus for the upcoming warmer months. While I did not see a massive difference in terms of lifting (touch wood, hopefully this means my skin isn’t that affected by gravity as yet), I like the water base formula and well moisturised skin without any breakouts.

N.V. Perricone MD: Face Lipid Replenishment

Rosacea is a very serious skin condition for many women regardless of being dry, oily or combination skin. I for one have combination skin which entails oily forehead and nose but very sensitive and dry cheeks.

Confusing? I know, I have to battle and live with it since there is no exact cure for rosacea. A dermatologist however, recommended my N.V. Perricone’s Face Lipid Replenishment for my sensitive and dry cheek as a prevention for rosacea to occur.

Since using this product, I have expeirenced close to none flushing or burning red cheeks. I suppose it has to be the timely change of weather (spring = less heater) that contributed to the minimization of rosacea occuring as well.

What this product does is to supply a firmer, more youthful/tone skin. The lipid in it is kind of like moisture for the skin because lipids naturally exist in our skin cells, which plays the role of protecting, hydrating and repairing our skin. It also has plenty of Vitamin E that performs as a super antioxidant to protect skin cells from damaging.

This luxurious cream is non greasy and has very effective anti-inflammatory effect on my skin. I was told that continue use of this cream will help to create a defensive barrier on the surface of the skin to help largely reduce a lot of stress/aging/damage our skin take on, on a daily basis.

Remember a little goes a long way, so be sure to be light handed upon applying this and definitely tightly screw lock the jar to help preserve its quality.

This product can also be purchased from MECCA.

Glowing peau

I am Asian. So naturally, Asians are very prone to greasy skin if they are a little heavy handed on the moisturizer/illuminator/highlighter/cream/serum/gel, etc you will end up looking like oily face. Basically, it is a skill to remain moisturized and hydrated while looking like you had not put anything onto the skin. It works fine with me in humid countries; I can get away with little or no moisturizer but I am here in Australia now.

Australia is such a drying country. People age older here. My chocolate hardens here. My chips remain crispy here. It is so dry my water basically evaporates. (Just kidding!) Skipping moisturizer is out of the question. Here, I have an intensive skincare routine to follow everyday to avoid having flaky skin. Which includes head to toe moisturizing, serum slapping and intensive night cream to massage on. Which translate more hard-earned money spent on skincare products.

I have tried countless cream/lotion/balm/gel (La Mer, SKII, La Prairie) and regardless of the price I always end up walking around at night looking like a greasy-burger-smeared face. Worst of it all, I feel the greasiness on my skin and still feel tight, dry and under moisturized under the skin after my so called intensive night cream.

For the first time, I think I may have possibly found my cure for malnourished and dry skin. I love me some heavy-dutied potent stuff for my face at night. After all it is the time for repair and to be nourished.

This Essential Balm is awesomeness. My skin actually looks glowing instead of greasy. (Definitely one of its kind) All you need is a very tiny amount and sweep it all over the face for this thin yet thick layer of protection against drying skin. It smells good too. Positively my night ritual now.

Try it and you’ll know what I mean.

N.V.Perricone: Face Finishing Moisturizer

This flying face moisturizer smells insanely addictive. It is known for being a lightweight lotion based packed with all the goodness of wheat protein and antioxidants that add moisture and guaranteed dermal protection.

This little shiny gem is good for anti-aging needs too. I find the texture of the lotion rather thick but surprisingly smooths over skin like a lotion and you can almost feel the layer of protected skin instantly. Definitely light and intense.

I use this as my night moisturizer (since it doesn’t come with SPF) and wake up to gorgeous definitely enviable dewy skin in the morning.

However, these moisturizers consist of Parabens (breast cancer causing ingredients) and that is where I am stucked. Dewy skin or breast cancer? Previously, I used this cream for my neck and chest too!! Since reading the parabens fear I have been putting this cream at the corner of my beauty cabinet awaiting a decision to use or chuck it out.

However, if you want polished, dewy skin and does not believe in parabens can cause breast cancer. This is the way to go.

SK II Advanced Signs Treatment Cream

It has been more than 2 weeks since I’ve started using the Advanced Signs Treatment cream from SKII and I am deeply in love with it.

The texture of this cream is surprisingly light even when I had massaged 2 pearl sized amount onto my face and neck. (Sometime I can be a little heavy handed and put more than I should)

My face was never greasy and it was thoroughly adsorbed well overnight; waking up to supple and silky soft skin every morning.

I have always really envy people with healthy, smooth skin. Alas, I was not blessed with such superiority. My skin was dull, dark, with a plenty of acne and scars when I was a teenager.

The acne might have gone but the dull, dark and scars are still visible.

That is why I try truly hard to maintain and improve my skin condition. Believe me, I have tried everything possibly done to the face without going through surgery. Intense Pulsed Light treatments, extraction facials, whitening facials, microdermabration in the clinic, epidermic resurfacing, chemical peel and whats not to have better skin like I have today. (Still not entirely satisfied with it)

Back to the point, this cream helps fight the multiple signs of aging and approaching the mid twenties, it is crucial to keep the skin supple and protected. We don’t want premature fine lines, wrinkles and age spots do we?

I liked how this cream is so whispery light yet does what it do. If you are looking for a good cream to use day or night; in my case I only use it for night time and I usually slap on a huge amount, this is definitely worth to invest on. Especially during hot summer nights or in hotter climate, it doesn’t feel no greasy at all.

Added more products into my already explosing daily skincare range

I must admit it, this addiction won’t stop.

I can’t stop helping myself to beauty products. And they don’t come cheap either. Sigh.

I am a sucker for award-winning products. I know they will always have some award winning stuff every season, but oh well, what the heck.

I decided to include a day moisturizer that has SPF, isn’t oily and does a good moisturizing job. Because air conditioning and heater are a killer to the skin. I needed something I can put below and on top of my makeup.

I decided to try out Clinique’s Superdefence Triple Action Moisturizer SPF 25.
The name itself sounds convincing enough. UV protective moisturizer was just what I needed. Turns out this moisturizer isn’t sticky or does it give the skin “unwanted shine”.

On top of that, it helps the skin to defense against the harsh environment, protect and fight against free radicals, neutralizes the toxic effect and rebuild the skin’s natural defense system.

A very clever moisturizer.

What’s not to like about it?

Next, is the Turnaround Concentrate that me thinks you should really try this out. It is a skin renewer potion. Usually when we talk about exfoliant we would be talking about scrub, mask and harsh products that strip the natural moisture from the face.

This high performance potion is different.

It is a lotion you put onto your face and it does the whole multilevel renewal process. A cocktail full of intelligent ingredients that help speed healthy skin cell, continually unveils brighter, more radiant skin.

Best of all, it leaves the skin feeling velvety.

I have pores on my nose and I won’t deny it. Who doesn’t? Especially if you come from a hot and humid country. The sun is bound to do some damage to the nose and skin over the years.

Well, fret not. There’s Pore Minimizer to the rescue.

This smart little tube is a refining lightweight potion that minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores immediately and over time the pores look remarkably reduced.

Well, lets be honest, they won’t disappear unless you go for laser surgery.

So, this is the next best thing you can do.

I especially love how my nose felt especially after I applied it on. Try it and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Perfect for Spring and Summer Skin

This moisturizer from L’occitane named Precious Fluid is a white watery moisturizer that miraculously transform into powdery soft texture once you rubbed it on your face. It also has this light scent that I couldn’t quite describe it. Try it and you’ll know what I’m saying.

What makes this so special is that it is one of the best seller in the house. It is also great for spring and summer weather. It doesn’t make your face oily and it adsorbs into the skin perfectly and is great for normal to combination skin like mine.

I was chatting with a make-up artist, Terri from Bobbi Brown the other day. She told me how Asians don’t really need too much highlighter on their face as it adds shine. And believe me, we do not want shine.

We want nicely sculptured face and cheekbones and well moisturized skin with no extra shine on the unnecessary areas as it can be extremely unflattering.

That is why we should change our skincare products according to seasons and it is time to get on a lighter moisturizer yet still does it job.

L’Occitane: Honey Face Cream

Today, I have another L’Occitane product to review. As we age, our skin changes. One of the most notable change for me, is that my skin becomes more sensitive and is more prone to redness around the cheek. In short, I’ve grown out of acne skin and have landed in sensitive skin land.

This Honey Face Cream is a daily moisturizing cream that smells like honey and royal jelly. Personally, I think it smells a little funny, not enough to turn me off the entire product, but it just smells funny that I can’t quite pinpoint the scent.

The cream also has some ingredients that fights free radicals and protects the face from aggressive external elements. You know all the junk and pollutions can does harm on your skin too.

So far, I find that the cream is very hydrating and soothing for my very irritated skin and it also freshen the skin up a little bit. As it is a little thicker than I’d like it to be, so I’ve decided to use it as my night-only moisturizer. Usually, I’d slab on a thick layer at night and let it do its wonder during my sleep. Every morning, I am guaranteed with baby ass soft skin. I like.

I think this is 43 licks.
