When Chanel first launched the Rouge Coco Shine collection, it rocked the beauty world and subsequently a few luxury make up brands quickly follow suit. The Rouge Coco Shine aka Hydrating Colour Lip Shine is the younger sister of Coco Rouge. It’s more fun, less pigmented and comes with a less serious matte finish that most lipstick does.
To say Rouge Coco Shine redefined my lipstick wardrobe is an understatement. The formula is creamy but lightweight to the lips, very wearable especially for extended hours of wear it doesn’t dry out my lips or accentuate the fine lines on my lips. Overall it is an all rounder winner!
From left to right: #83 Scenario, #77 Ingenue, #84 Dialogue, #80 Suspense
I find myself reaching out to #84 Dialogue and #80 Suspense for quite a fair bit since they are very wearable for both day and night for my pigmented lips. These new shades are vibrant and totally buildable if you want a more intense finish or just a sheer wash. For day, I like to dab the lipstick over lips to get a “stained” finish and for night I’d apply two full layers over lips for a bolder finish.
Ps: Did you know the new Rouge Coco Shine shades also have 30% more pigments as compare to the previous versions? If you like a bit of colour on your lips, these are definitely something not to be missed.

From the Tom Ford Holiday 2012 collection, Tom Ford released four limited edition lipsticks and two of them are #Slander and #Diabolique which I will be reviewing today. Tom Ford lippies is definitely right up there with my all time favourites Chanel and Estee Lauder. If you have to purchase one product from the entire Tom Ford make up collection, may I suggest you to go check out their lipsticks. I promise you won’t be disappointed with what they have to offer.
Top: #Slander Bottom: #Diabolique
One was photographed right next to a window with natural light and one indoors.
Surprisingly, both swatches appear to be quite similar to each another but in real life, #slander is more of a brighter shade with a pink red finish where else #diabolique is darker with a deep cheery red finish. I have also noticed that #slander has more shine as compare to #diabolique’s matte finish.
Both shades are really pigmented and easy to apply. Texture wise they are creamy and while both lippies finishes matte but it doesn’t feel dry on lips or drying to the lips after hours of wear. With extra care while drinking or sipping drinks, these lasted through to after lunch and I only needed a quick touch up.
Beauty tip: Reason why these lipsticks are worth their moolah is because they are infused with rare and exotic ingredients to create the super creamy texture to ensure application are smooth + hydrating to the lips.

Left to right: #48 Sentiment, #49 Liaison
Recently, Chanel launched these Rouge Coco as part of the Avant-Premiere de Chanel collection. The collection is Peter Philips’ homage to the classic movies from the glamorous French & Hollywood cinema era. Chanel Rouge Coco 2013 Collection Avant-Premiere collection showcases a contemporary and feminine mix of Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour, Rouge Coco Shine and Le Vernis. Some of the products are limited edition and some isn’t.
In total, there are six Rouge coco shades and today I am reviewing two of the six. Texture wise these lipsticks are creamy and has a nice satiny finish. Both leaves a hydrating feel and it doesn’t feel like I am wearing a lipstick, feels more like a moisturising balm with a nice wash of colour over. Definitely redefining the lipstick department worthy prodz.
#48 Sentiment is your natural beige with a totally wearable peach tone that gives a modern twist to your traditional beige. Very wearable for day time at work and is great to pair with dark smokey eyes at night. This peachy beige lipstick is best suited to those who have a lighter coloured lips as I can imagine this will appear washed off in darker toned lips.
#49 Liaison is a rosy pink colour with a hint of frost in it and is also very wearable for day time and perhaps put a layer of shimmer gloss over the top at night for that hint of glossy finish.

Recently, ck one color released their limited edition Dark Matter collection which takes inspiration from embellished leather and velvet. The collection includes a gloss eyeshadow, long wear + shine nail color, and pure color lipstick.

From left: #320 Velvet, #620 Vinyl
Let’s start with the ck one pure color lipstick (RRP AUD$35 each). These are my favourite from the collection as they are sleek and easy to apply. Surprisingly with the strong pigment it is also quite moisturising upon application.

From left: #320 Velvet, #620 Vinyl
Velvet looks quite violet on the tube but with a light application it is quite sheer, much like a stain, making it very wearable. The pigment can be further enhanced by using a lip brush with the application. As you can see in the swatch above, there’s some subtle shine to the lipsticks.
ck one Long Wear + Shine Nail Color in #930 graphite
RRP AUD$20
This is a metallic silver shade with a silky smooth formula that is a dream to apply. You only need one careful coat for an even application. The finish has a subtle shine to it.
ck one Long Wear + Shine Nail Color in #910 Coal
RRP AUD$20
This black shade has shimmery particles in it. The shimmer is subtle and is only noticeably if you take a closer look of the nails. The finish is an understated black shade with a hint of shimmer. I’d also applied a top coat on top of this for the glossy shine finish.
Note: Did you know that there’s also a Matte top coat that is a GWP product from this collection.
ck one gloss eyecolour #810 patent
RRP AUD$25
This is perhaps my least favourite product from the collection. It is advertised as a dramatic black shade that offers intense black patent shine. This however was hard to work with. I had a hard time applying it the way I want it to be and it was smudging everywhere even with an eye primer on. It also immediately sinks into my fine lines (as you can see in my swatch above) that is accentuates lines on my lids. This doesn’t work as a liner and more of a wash of colours on the lids. Perhaps this will be a great choice for someone who has really dry eye lids.

Say hello to the new Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Purple Velvet RRP AUD$38.
This limited edition nail polish is creamy and easy enough to apply. Much to its name suggests, the Pure Color nail Lacquer swatches are true to the colour you see in the bottle. Pretty much what you see is what you get. The finish is crème with a shiny edge to it. Not glossy but definitely shiny! I love the deep purple shade and can definitely see myself reaching out for this shade again in the future. There’s also a beautiful turquoise colour from this collection and a chocolate brown polish.
Left: Hot Coralline, Right: Pink Riot
These two are the new addition to Estee Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick (not limited edition) and is available on both counters and online to purchase now for RRP AUD$45 each.
Swatched here left = pink riot and right = hot carolline. As with all of Estee Lauder lipsticks they have a subtle floral scent and the packaging is in their classic clear bottom and gold cap finish. The actual lipstick itself is quite pigmented as you can see in the swatch above and you can also see that it is quite moisturising from the shiny sheen.
Like most lipstick on me (my lips are really dry and I am prone to biting my lips), these Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick does leave my lips slightly dry after 4-5 hours of wear and I had to wipe off and re do my lips. However, colour payoff wise, I am very happy with these and I do have a soft spot for Estee Lauder lipsticks as they are after all the first brand of lipstick I have ever purchased.
If you are looking for fantastic range of colours for your lips, you cannot go past Estee Lauder as they have a huge collection of colours and texture to choose from and they come in the prettiest packaging. Also, their see through packaging helps to find lip colour way easier in a sea of lipsticks. If you don’t have chronic super dry lips, you’ll find these an absolute pleasant to dress your lips with.
YSL Rouge Pur #49 – Tropical Pink
When Celina came back from her trip, she came home with this as a gift! I have always been a sucker for hot pink lipsticks, so naturally this was on a wish list. I have previously raved about how much I love YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks and their shades offering. Naturally I am excited to check out their Rouge Pur (Pure Lipstick). This one comes with SPF 8 (not as much as I would love it to be) and it is made in France.
Shade #49 – Tropical Pink is a full coverage shade that is slightly moisturising just enough for the lipstick to glide over the lips and isn’t drying. The colour is so pigmented it stays on the lips for hours with an almost matte finish. This lipstick also comes with ingredients like Vitamin A, E, Carrot Root Extract and sunscreen in it effectively the lipstick contain antioxidant protection, smooth, supple and soft lips.
Overall, I love the lipstick for its intensity and the formula. However, if you have really dry lips and your lips are prone to flaking/peeling then this lipstick is not for you as it will accentuate the fine lines and dryness of the lips. It is recommended to prep your lips with some balm, blot it and apply this lipstick to ensure the lipstick stays.

In September, Peter Philips – Creative Director of Chanel Makeup has reinvented the iconic Rouge Allure range adding intensity to beautiful new colours. The new lipsticks contain high pigment concentration without compromising their moisturising and antioxidant agents for intense colour and supple, protected lips.
Still bearing the signature feminine black lacquered click open and close casing; the new Rouge Allure delivers super fine, second skin texture to lips that glides on smoothly over the lips for a satiny and luminous finish. The lipstick contains shea butter and canola oil to keep lips soft. In terms of colour, the new Rouge Allure collection includes a shade of red to suit every mood and every complexion. The new collection covers new shades of reds, beiges, pinks, oranges to browns.
In their signature click open and close sleek casing, my favourite kind of packaging for Chanel lipsticks.
From left: #96 Excentrique & #94 Extatique
Left: #96 Excentrique - a bold and bright orangey- apricot shade.
Right: #94 Extatique - a playful and intense blush pink shade.
Both of which glides onto the lips easily and is creamy on application. Personally, I love how intense these colours are on my lips and how it doesn’t dry my lips. The luxurious feel of a packaging and lipstick is so hard to resist too!
New Rouge Allure Lip Colour are RRP AUD$50 each
Available from 2nd September onwards

#16
Sheer coral , not quite my cup of tea.
#10
Bold classic red that is requires bit of a play down with the eye make up to balance things up.
