Recently, L’Occitane released a limited edition collection that features Shea Butter Fortune Flowers – a range of perfumed shea butter beauty products. This collection is inspired by two West African traditions – basket weaving and storytelling.
The Shea Butter Fortune Flowers range comes with a hand cream, lip balm, body butter and limited edition packaging for their best-selling Shea Butter hand cream. Three key scent collections for the Fortune Flowers are – Rose Petals, Date Bouquet and Mango Flower.
Shea Butter Rose Petals Lip Balm RRP AUD $14
This is organic certified and fair trade approved. Personally, anything rose scented is a no brainer for me. This sweet smelling rose with a hint of candied almond is delicious to the lips and nourishes it at the same time to prevent dry and chapped lips. This isn’t tinted so it works as a lip base for me and I use this to prime my lips prior to applying lipsticks.
Texture wise, this isn’t too sticky or thick hence making it really wearable and touch up throughout the day.
Shea Butter Date Bouquet Hand Cream RRP AUD $12
We all love a good hand cream and L’Occitane is no stranger at delivering awesome value and quality hand creams minus the grease. This hand cream combined with the high concentration of shea butter helps to protect, nourish and soften skin. To be honest, I couldn’t really smell the dates from this hand cream but I do love the hydration and comfort feel of this hand cream. Also the 30mls designs are super affordable and is perfect to pop in my hand bag for on-the-go reapplication.
L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Shimmering Oil RRP AUD$45
On top of the amazing and moisturising Shea Butter Fortune Flowers collection, L’Occitane is also launching the new Pivoine Flora collection on the 17th April 2013. I have been using their Shimmering Oil and I must say this oil is amazing. It isn’t your traditional messy body oil, from the packaging to the actual oil itself there is close to no messiness and the oil absorbs into skin so quickly it’s like you did not just slapped palmful of oil all over the body.
The shimmering oil also leaves skin with a subtle shimmery finish which is perfect for that healthy glow minus the tan. Alternatively if you don’t want too much shimmer, you can choose to not shake the bottle and gently pour out the oil instead. Clever huh? Fragrance wise, if you love peonies, you’ll love this.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Stick SPF 50+ (Left) RRP AUD$21.95

Whilst summer is over, it is still important to ensure sun protection is a crucial step in our daily skincare step and sun protection shouldn’t stop where our face stops. Be sure to massage it well onto the décolletage area and any area that will be exposed to sun. Anthelios XL Extreme Fluid (lightweight watery texture) is one of my personal favourite and it provides broad spectrum protection and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser x3 Anti Ageing Power Moisturiser
This multi-award winning cream is already making headlines internationally before it arrived our shores. Designed and targeted for women mid 30s onwards, this luxurious cream has a rich texture and a pleasant fragrance. Since I am not in the targeted demographic, I can’t vouch for its results but if you’re in the market looking for something to provide intense hydration + unifying skin to an even finish.
Rejoice! The smart cookies at L’Occitane released their limited edition Sorbet Verbena frosted collection this week. Focusing in bringing icy cooling products to combat and cool down this summer. This cannot be any more fitting because I am one of those people who RELIGIOUSLY apply body cream/lotion all through summer despite the weather
Today I am reviewing The Cooling Gloss & The Body Ice Gel as pictured above.
The Body Ice Gel comes in a frosted bottle packaging with a cooling gel texture with a fresh citrusy and minty scent. The invigorating blend includes notes like lime, grapefruit, verbena, peppermint, spearmint, white woods and musk. I love how upon skin contact this body gel constantly gives my skin an instant cooling sensation. After a quick rub, the gel melts into my skin with no signs of greasiness or sticky feeling.
The Cooling Gloss is also moisturising gloss on the lips. While I can still feel a film of gloss on my lips but the sensation is cooling and lightweight on the lips.
The frosted collection also comes in eau de toilette spray, cooling gloss, exfoliating shower gel, body ice gel and refreshing mist.
A must have for hot summery days and still get your needed hydration boost, especially post sun exposure.
The Cooling Gloss (20ml) RRP AUD$20

For your hair:
Toni & Guy recently released a new collection of hair products, all in really luxe pump bottle packaging make it easy to use and great to look at. My favourite picks has to be the Shine Gloss Serum (RRP AUD$15.99 ) because I just recently ensured 3 hours of hair bleaching and certainly need all the moisture and serum in the world to nurse my hair back to its health. Also, the Moisture Shine Spray (RRP AUD$15.99 ) is a god sent for its moisturising factor and shine to help add life to my hair.
For your skin:
Shu Uemura has always been notorious for their cleansing oil, eye lash curler and false lashes for years. Little did people know that apart from their best selling products, their skincare is definitely worth a sniff too.
The new hero product Shu Uemura Red:juvenus Intense Vitalizing Concentrate (RRP AUD$110) is a new welcoming addition to their existing Red:juvenus collection. This translucent serum is packed with the highest amount of Phyto-Red Energy Complex for visible correction of fine lines and boosting glow to the skin. Texture wise, this is lightweight and is in gel fluid texture making it easy to massage and absorb into skin. Love it for its rejuvenating properties that helps to nourish skin and to keep skin soft, moist and glowy during the wintery months.
For your body:
L’Occitane is launching (29th Aug) the new fragrance collection namely the Eau Ravissante and Eau Universelle. Eau Ravissante is a punch of floral and refreshing fruity citrus notes while Eau Universelle captures the freshness of citrus fruits making it perfect as the unisex fragrance.
Both products comes in cologne frache (RRP AUD $40 [50ml] / $70 [300ml] and shower gel (RRP AUD$28) variation. Let’s start with the cologne frache, they are surprisingly light and smell delicately fresh as for the shower gel, the gel works into a generous foaming lather that cleanses and delivers a refreshing sensory experience.
With the new year, we also saw L’Occitane releasing new packaging for their existing Lavende collection. This collection is known for the ability to reduce anxiety, ease stress and promote a good night’s sleep. Great for people like me who shower before bed.
Lavender Shower Gel RRP AUD$28 / Lavender Body Massage Gel RRP AUD$38
Body Gel and Shower Gel are like butter and toast. It is important to keep skin moisturised after shower to replenish any lost nutrition to the skin. L’Occitane Lavender Shower Gel is enriched with lavender essential oil that not only cleanses the skin but also leaves it lightly perfumed with L’Occitane’s signature Provincial lavender.
I especially love the Body Massage Gel, it is rich but due to its smooth jelly like texture makes massaging a breeze. Personally, I love massaging post shower to help boost circulation and keep skin well moisturised at the same time. The L’Occitane Body Massage Gel also comes with the relaxing aromatic scent of lavender that prolongs the scent from the shower gel.
Lavender Hand Cream RRP AUD$28 (75ml)
One of L’Occitane best selling product is their hand creams. Naturally, this hand cream combines the benefits of shea butter and lavender essential oil to keep paws well moisturised and a great addition for hand bag or desk side. If you’re a fan of the relaxing lavender scent, you’ll love this.
