Tom Ford Beauty: Shade & Illuminate

The long awaited Tom Ford Beauty makeup and skin care collection has finally hit our counters Australia wide on 13th November 2011. Definitely a day to celebrate and rejoice because these comes with 1) luxe packaging   2) are of amazing quality   3) will soon be cult items must-have !!  Tom Ford Beauty has previously taken the beauty industry by a storm with their luxurious and high-quality lipsticks. Beauty editors, beauty bloggers both abroad and local went nutso about them.

I got the privilege to play with Tom Ford Beauty before the Australia launch. First up, it’s the Shade & Illuminate (RRP AUD$100). It is a duet of highlighting and shading cream to create the polished model looks that Tom Ford adores in his fashion campaigns. While I am no expert in sculpting and contouring, I find this product relatively easy to use because the pigment is quite sheer and the formula is light.

Much like the crème blush technique, I dab “Shade” into the outer jaw lines of my face to blend it out with my fingers to achieve the illusion of a smaller face. Next, after wiping my fingers clean I’d rub some of the “Illuminate” and dab it onto the bridge of my nose, under brow bone and on top of my cheeks post applying blush. The key is to go easy at the beginning and dab more when you need. Overall, this product is “really sheer” hence you can’t really go wrong with it. I wonder if I should jazz things up with a makeup brush and see how the intensity goes.

Tom Ford Beauty Cheek Brush (RRP AUD$120) – Overall, this is a sturdy good quality brush. While the brush isn’t the softest I have tried throughout my “brush testing” career as a beauty blogger, I did however find the density and the feel of the brush very comfortable to hold and picks up heaps of pigment for blush application.  One thing though, once you put colour in the brush the brush heads looks tainted and don’t appear snowy white anymore, so please admire this picture below at its purest form.

More makeup so my Dad can enjoy the beauty of Makeup. Yes.

Guerlain: Terraccota Brush

Although this brush is the ideal tool for Terracotta powder, I use it to pair with my Meteorites Powder. The thick and wide brush makes picking powder up a breeze.

It is very practical, you can hide it in your makeup bag, your bag and bring it anywhere and everywhere with you.

You can also double it up as a bronzer brush, a dusting powder brush, a powder brush, a sparkling powder brush. You get the drill.

Bonus points, is that it looks super pretty and cool compare to the normal stick brushes. You can slide your finger across the hole to have a firm grip on the brush and do your thing.

It was a gift. I don’t know how much it is worth.

MAC: Heirlooms

So, Heirlooms collection has finally arrive in Melbourne. I have been waiting for this particular collection because I’ve been wanting a proper brush set but was thinking spending $500+ for 30 over brushes is not exactly what I’ve been wanting for. (Buying in bulk is always cheaper to buy rather than individual ones)

So, when MAC decided to come out with some basic makeup brushes, I totally jumped onto that idea and decided it was totally my cup of tea.

The said five basic makeup brushes worth about USD$48 and I brought it for AUD$110. Such a freaking rip-off.

When I get me ass to US, I will buy a shit load of make up and beauty products and no one is going to stop me aye !!

Haven’t exactly had time to try them out yet, they look oh so precious to be used. *admires*
Will review about it much later.

I’ve brought some cooking utensils as well, let the cooking start again shall we?
