With the warmer months, for some reason I use more hair products be it mousse, anti-frizz products or hair conditioning leave in moisturisers. Needless to say, a deep cleansing and preventive hair care is needed to not only keep my scalp healthy but also avoid ended up with flaky bits on my head (never a good look!).
Head & Shoulders is a hair care brand I’ve long heard about but never actually gotten around to trial it. I have always identified them as the ‘scalp’ specialist in treating dandruff. So when I gave this a shot, it’s actually very moisturising (doesn’t leave my hair dry) and my hair doesn’t feel weight down with the conditioner either.
Anything to prevent dandruff is on the cards for me as I produce 500% more oil from every single possible pore in my body during the warmer months.
RRP AUD$5.99 each

Why I love it:Â
- Those of you who have fine/flat hair who couldn’t use Moroccanoil hair products previously due to the richness and thickness of the products, you’ll love that Moroccanoil released the Extra Volume range
- Still infused with Moroccanoil trademark nourishing and hair loving ingredients; minus the richness and the ‘heavy/creamy’ feeling
- Shampoo lathers really well for my double cleanse and the conditioner instantly de-tangles my mob
- Additionally, the rinse off is noticeably quicker and the results is clean, soft, de-tangled hair minus any heaviness
- Great option if you have oily roots and dry hair end bits like I do, you’ll benefit from the lightness of the shampoo and nourishing bits for the end bits.

KMS California professional hair care products had a new face lift approximately two months ago (yes, I am late to the game due to trialling and testing the products before I can review it here). The new packaging features more fun + playful colours that are easily identified by collection.
My favourite combo has to be a combination of Add Volume + Free Shape (heat activated technology) range.
Every night, I’d start with Add Volume Shampoo (RRP AUD$28.95) then use whatever conditioner/hair mask. Once hair is towel dried, I’d spray a combination of Free Shape Quick Blow Dry (RRP AUD$31.95) and Free Shape Hot Flex Spray (RRP AUD$31.95) paying additional attention to the ends of my hair with hot flex spray. After gently blow drying my hair for 2 minutes, I’d spritz Add Volume Volumizing Spray (RRP AUD$31.95) and massage thoroughly especially around the crown/root area for that boost of volume.
I find that if I follow this routine and style my hair, the curls tend to hold heaps longer and crown area appears to be less flat. Try it some time will ya?
“All KMS California range are aimed to enhance the users individual hair condition and style – from start to finish”
All products are now available from KMS California salons nationally

Congratulation ladies! I will be in touch shortly via Facebook for your postal address, if you don’t hear from me to email me ([email protected]) your postal address.
I was introduced to these magic potions by Missy. John Freida Collection Frizz Ease Curl Around shampoo and conditioner is the most noticeable shampoo I have used that have fantastic improvement on my hair. Likewise for the conditioner.
I have dead straight hair but I am using the curl around range and they helps to set curl the hair easier. It smells eerily similar like this product. It is very affordable and you can easily obtain these shampoo in your local Safeway, Priceline and other drug stores.
It adds fantastic shine and gloss to the hair and my hair felt so silky smooth that it could put Pantene to shame.
As everyone knows, I am a devoted person who washes my hair every single night and this wonderful shampoo is gentle enough for everyday use. Helps resist frizz in any weather too.
On top of that it is safe for color-treated hair.
Run out this instant, and bag these fantastic potions right away. Right now.
During winter, it is easier to slip into depression then any other time during the year. (at least, for me) Hence, it is very important to constantly pamper yourself and keep yourself happy by what else but to shop and buy stuff that can keep you being pretty?
The only reason I post up these products because I have tried them and love them. I will not post up products that are average and does not do wonders.
Let’s start with the hair.
During winter, hair are unusually limp. Reason? I don’t know. During winter, hair tend to get more frizzy and undesirable. Especially with a ton of hair extension on your head and it being limp is no fun at all. Limp hair makes it harder to style, harder to hide the extension and harder to look pretty.
I must admit, I am very happy with these beauty finds. I felt like a little kid in a candy shop where your imagination is your only limitation. My, the hair product store I stepped in was just like that candy shop.
This Sunsilk – Anti Flat range has been out for ages. I’ve just gotten the conditioner for a week. Loves it. Upon the first try, my hair felt 10 times lighter and softer.
I think the theory of using the same shampoo and conditioner for too long does makes your hair immune to it and therefore the lack of performance of the product does apply here. I’ve vowed to change shampoo and conditioner brand each time the bottles finishes up.
After all, it is like a jungle out there. One can only choose this much. I think I’ve gained at least 20% volume on my hair just by using the conditioner alone.
Since I wash my hair on a daily basis, applying serums, styling products and all that is not a problem for me. Fudge’s root juice is the one if you want extra volume that last throughout the day and nothing else.
It is a root booster and it miraculously transform my lifeless hair to hair with volume even though I have 10 ton heavy extension. It smells good and it is reasonably cheap.
Next up, its L’oreal Professional – Liss Extreme Reflexium Shine Perfecting Serum. I only apply this at the ends of my hair which is also the dry parts and the parts that looks frizzy. It makes my ends look incredibly smooth and shiny. We usually don’t get shine at the end of our hair but this product makes the impossible, possible.
This serum is pretty oily so please avoid rubbing it onto your scalp as it’ll instantly makes you look like you have oily hair. Unless you have super dry and frizzy hair from root to ends.
I was given this product by the generous lady at the Clinique counter because I was buying some other stuff. At first thought, I was like ‘Yea yea whatever, I bet its just another one of those anti-blemish gel full of alcohol and bla bla bla‘.
I don’t get breakout often but we are only human and once in a month, I do get a tiny pop or two. I must admit I have no anti-blemish gel in my beauty cupboard.
So I was delighted to have Clinique – Anti Blemish Solution and one that actually works. One that can use under makeup. One that does not sting. One that zaps away my blemish in 2 days. One that I plan to keep using in the near future until I find another miracle that is.
Mascaras only last for 6 months. Unfortunately for me, I find the weather in Melbourne dries up mascaras too. Usually, mine last for 3 months or so. I have pretty sensitive eyes as well, I like the idea of changing my mascara frequent so I don’t get some eye disease or something.
My first Clinique mascara. It is the Clinique – High Impact Mascara. It does the usual adding volume, adding definition and length to the lashes. What is so special about it though, is that its got this combing thing that I’m sure many other brands has it too.
The combing thing actually separates the lashes to avoid clumps and the lashes sticking together. I used to use my mascara and comb it after, now I have all in one tube, how convenient.
I call this my hybrid gloss. As much as I love lip glosses they often come with no color. (Except that one time I blogged about this Clarins gloss with fantastic color.) Well, they do have glosses that come out with color, but it is often messy to apply, disappears by lunch hour and can be disgusting if you try to apply without a mirror. (Imagine half colored lips)
I have darker lips by nature because I used to swim so much when I was younger and all that sun did damage the skin and lips. Hence, by just applying a layer of gloss on dark lips actually does nothing to make you more appealing.
Revlon’s Just Bitten Lip Stain (in Cheery Tart) changed all that . It isn’t too glossy, has the right colors and smells fruity too. It is like a lipstick without being a lipstick kind of dry. I just love it and definitely saves me time in the morning from applying lipstick, liner and gloss.
p/s:This lip stain is EVIL. 8 hours later, after countless lip licking, coffee sipping and even lunch and that lip stain was actually still visible on my lips. Damn, that’s one good lip stain ok !!!!
I have like 10 thousand lip glosses laying around and truth to be told, I’ve yet to finish using one. They usually disappear, get lost in the cab with far too many drunken nights and miraculously misplaced. (when found, I’d just chuck them away.)
After all, a girl can never have too many glosses, same theory as the shoe, clothes, makeup, skincare products, bags and earrings for that matter.
At the moment, I’m using Victoria’s Secret – Beauty Rush (in Piece of Cake). I’d usually apply it on top of my lipstick or on its own while doing the groceries run or late night supper. This moisturizing gloss is perfect for winter lips. It is super shiny and last pretty long. It has a nice sheer color with an irresistible scent.
I swear, its like cupcakes or cake frosting in a tube. Yummy !!
