Invisible Zinc ESP Moisturiser SPF 30

ESP stands for Environmental Skin Protector combines antioxidant moisturisers combines natural, physical, mineral, zinc sunscreen (20%) and anti-pollution formula.

Pump bottle two in one functioning sunscreen (UVA/UVB) + moisturiser is the best bet for time poor individuals. While I am not a big fan of using skincare that combines moisturiser and sunscreen; but because of the high concentration of sunscreen, I deep dived into this and gave this a go.

As I already do have oily skin, moisturiser is not really ‘important’ on my list, hence I find this product just great on me. It acts as a barrier between the skin and the environment. Texture wise, this moisturiser is quite watery but the consistency is still rich. I use two full pumps for my face and neck area everyday in the morning.

Due to its zinc content, the sunscreen takes a while to rub in and to blend onto skin so make sure you put in the effort to massage and thoroughly work it all over face/neck. Scent wise it does smells like a zinc sunscreen. As for the finish, it is WORTH it. My skin felt refreshingly cool with a quite comfortable and non greasy finish.

In fact, I’ve been told this sunscreen can prevent those bad burns you get during ski trips! If you’re in the market for a high performance sunscreen, this one is a winner.

Clarins Sun Control Cream High Protection for Face SPF15

RRP AUD$40

I am a firm believer of using a separate sunscreen even though my moisturiser, primer, foundation and make up contains sunscreen. A stand alone sunscreen (with UVA/UVB protection of course) will deliver the full potency of sun protection without being diluted with other ingredients. Clarins does a great one with great day-to-day sun protection minus the grease and stickiness. Great for all skin types.

Clarins After Sun Moisturiser Ultra Hydrating

RRP AUD$42

After a day of sun exposure an after sun moisturiser is just what you need to keep skin glowy, well hydrated (soothing) and non flaky. This After Sun Moisturiser helps to revitalize skin and prolong your tan. While it is important to keep skin protected from the sun, people often neglect the after sun part, this product helps to protect skin against free radicals that can damage the skin long after sun exposure. Gotta love the sunflower extracts, mimosa tenuiflora, watermelon extract (YUM), cardamom extract and shea butter for a radiance glow.

Dermalogica Multivitamin Bodyblock SPF 20

If ageing skin is your main concern, Dermalogica has the perfect one for you. Jam packed with Multivitamin goodness (Vitamin C, E, B5), lavender oil, shea butter, evening primrose oil and hyaluronic acid, this non greasy sunscreen keeps skin hydrated, prevents sun burnt and delivers sun protection (UVA/UVB) all at once. Comes with a velvety finish so sand doesn’t stick to it. I use this everyday on my hands, arms (if I’m not wearing long sleeves), legs and neck area.

Le Tan: Sheer Tint Daily Face SPF30 Sunscreen

Why I love it:

  • Sunscreen I use them every day, I love how they protect my skin but I also hate how long it takes to sink in, absorb and to dry off for me to move onto my next step. When you have 8 steps for your daily skincare routine you seriously can’t afford to wait 1-2 mins in between each steps (that’s waiting for 16 mins doing nothing!). As a result, I’m always on the lookout for products that are water based, oil free, absorbs quickly and leaves skin mattifying
  • When Le Tan released this sunscreen I was stoked. The sunscreen offers broad spectrum protection UVA./UVB with high SPF30 AND it glides onto skin like a gel mousse and leaves skin silky smooth instead of the traditional wet, oily, shiny post-sunscreen finish
  • What this does is to moisturise, protect skin from sun damage and provide sheer foundation all at once. Multipurpose products are always a welcome for me!
  • As it is fragrance and paraben free, it makes it suitable for even the most sensitive skin
  • Overall, I love how affordable this is, I love how EASY it is to apply, I love the finish it gives (Hello, Matte face) but the only thing that didn’t work for me is the tint. Like most tinted products in Australia, they often appear too brown/yellow/orange on my skin hence I tend to stay away from them. If only this comes without the tint and I’m sold.

Here’s to more sun filled days…

Now that the sun is out, it is time to whip out them protections. These hardworking beauties has been hibernating throughout winter. Lazy, lazy. I am also being more diligent in wearing caps, hats, etc during those painful sun burning morning at Belle’s Sunday classes.

Clinique: Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base SPF 15

Red face be gone!

This product claims to protect the skin from the usual UVA/UVB ray that is harmful to our skin that also are the main culprits for Rosacea/reactive redness on our face. It is kind of like a sunscreen and makeup base that is oil-free.

However, my experience with this base is quite bad. First of all, upon application my skin was greasy and quite oily even though this is suppose to be oil-free. My guess is the sunscreen that makes it greasy.

While is is comforting upon application, the thick layer of greasiness was rather uncomfortable and difficult to put on makeup afterwards.

Surprisingly, this product is green in color (I am so used to the white/yellow color lotion for everything) that helps to correct redness on the face and also even out the skin tone. While it evens out my skin tone; it gave my face this uneven white-washes cast all over my face.

Definitely will not purchase this. But if you have severe rosacea or red face; it definitely helped to keep my red patches at bay. I just had to work harder in blending and covering my face after application with this.

Invisible Zinc: Face & Body Sunscreen SPF 30+

Dear God,

Forgive me for I have sinned.

I always believe that I am invisible and that I do not need sunscreen.

The only time I applied sunscreen is only around my face and neck, oblivious to the rest of my body needs protection too.

Also, the only time I do apply sunscreen is once in a blue moon.

Under this unprotected, non-existence ozone layer country; I feel almost vulnerable each time I step out the door.

After numerous “talks”about how we are all aging by the day and protection is needed before it is too late. After all, we can’t live like we are Gods (in my case, *ahem* goddess).

Hence, I now vow that I would never neglect my limbs and my body.

I just brought this.

“A very light, non-greasy sunscreen while at the same time offers very high zinc broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection.”

It may be a little expensive for a 75g cream for the face and body but I’m sure to use this for my body only; mainly because I have tonnes other products for the face.

The texture of my skin feels smooth after a thin layer of application.

To my surprise, the smell is unlike any other typical sunscreen smell. It actually smells like plastic on my skin. Bearable plastic I must add. I know it is a little weird to describe the smell but plastic is the first thing that came up my mind.

Remember the hype about mineral makeup? Well this is the sunscreen version, the mineral sunscreen. Without titanium dioxide no parabens and no blocked pores which causes breakouts.
Perfect for sensitive skin like mine.

Roughly 19 licks.

May the sunscreen protection fever lives on forever and ever.

Amen.

Added more products into my already explosing daily skincare range

I must admit it, this addiction won’t stop.

I can’t stop helping myself to beauty products. And they don’t come cheap either. Sigh.

I am a sucker for award-winning products. I know they will always have some award winning stuff every season, but oh well, what the heck.

I decided to include a day moisturizer that has SPF, isn’t oily and does a good moisturizing job. Because air conditioning and heater are a killer to the skin. I needed something I can put below and on top of my makeup.

I decided to try out Clinique’s Superdefence Triple Action Moisturizer SPF 25.
The name itself sounds convincing enough. UV protective moisturizer was just what I needed. Turns out this moisturizer isn’t sticky or does it give the skin “unwanted shine”.

On top of that, it helps the skin to defense against the harsh environment, protect and fight against free radicals, neutralizes the toxic effect and rebuild the skin’s natural defense system.

A very clever moisturizer.

What’s not to like about it?

Roughly 90 licks.

Next, is the Turnaround Concentrate that me thinks you should really try this out. It is a skin renewer potion. Usually when we talk about exfoliant we would be talking about scrub, mask and harsh products that strip the natural moisture from the face.

This high performance potion is different.

It is a lotion you put onto your face and it does the whole multilevel renewal process. A cocktail full of intelligent ingredients that help speed healthy skin cell, continually unveils brighter, more radiant skin.

Best of all, it leaves the skin feeling velvety.

Roughly 88 licks.

I have pores on my nose and I won’t deny it. Who doesn’t? Especially if you come from a hot and humid country. The sun is bound to do some damage to the nose and skin over the years.

Well, fret not. There’s Pore Minimizer to the rescue.

This smart little tube is a refining lightweight potion that minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores immediately and over time the pores look remarkably reduced.

Well, lets be honest, they won’t disappear unless you go for laser surgery.

So, this is the next best thing you can do.

I especially love how my nose felt especially after I applied it on. Try it and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Roughly 48 licks.
